presents Owen Gray’s reggae take on King Floyd’s soulful original 'Groove Me'. In 1970, Owen Gray joined forces with producer Sidney Crooks to cut a funky reggae version for Pama Records’ Camel imprint, a track that became a boss reggae favorite. At the same time, King Floyd’s 'Groove Me', produced by Wardell Quezergue and recorded at Malaco Records, stormed the charts, topping the Billboard Soul chart and reaching the Top 10 of the Hot 100. Two versions, two genres, one irresistible groove.
