Paramount Global and CBS agreed late Tuesday to pay President Trump a sum that could reach north of $30 million to settle an election interference lawsuit. The network has also agreed to promptly release full, unedited transcripts of future presidential candidates’ interviews, an editorial standard people involved in the settlement talks have referred to as the "Trump rule."

No Parking.

As the City of Guntersville gets ready to celebrate the 4th of July Holiday. The Police Department wants to remind you that there are numerous NO PARKING zones with in the City. This includes parking along the side of the street on Sunset Drive between the intersection of Willow Beach Rd. and AL 69. We will be out in the area and if we observes a vehicle parked improperly every attempt will be made to located the owner. If we are unable to do so the offending vehicle will be towed at the owners expense.

Mientras la Ciudad de Guntersville se prepara para celebrar el 4 de Julio, el Departamento de Policía quiere recordarles que existen numerosas zonas de NO ESTACIONAR en la ciudad. Esto incluye estacionar al costado de la calle en Sunset Drive, entre la intersección de Willow Beach Rd. y AL 69. Estaremos en la zona y, si observamos un vehículo estacionado incorrectamente, haremos todo lo posible por localizar al propietario. De no ser posible, el vehículo infractor será remolcado y los gastos correrán a cargo del propietario.

It is with deep sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Retired Dale County Sheriff Wally Olson.

On behalf of the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the Olson family, friends, and the entire law enforcement community who had the privilege of serving alongside him.

Sheriff Matt Gentry and the entire CCSO family send their thoughts and prayers to the Olson family during this difficult time. May God bring comfort and peace to all who mourn his loss.

NEW CHAIRMAN PASSES. Ten days after being appointed County Commission chairman, David Reed has passed. He’s the 4th straight chairman to pass in office.
County attorney Clint Maze issued this statement:
Marshall County is shocked and saddened to announce the passing of Chairman David Reed this afternoon. Chairman Reed was appointed on June 9, 2025 by Governor Ivey to fill the vacancy created by the passing of Chairman Hutcheson, and was sworn in by Judge Tim Riley on June 11, 2025. Please pray for Chairman Reed’s family as they deal with the shock and grief of his sudden and untimely death.
Additional information will be released after the family has made arrangements.
Chairman Reed’s church, the Guntersville Church of Christ, reports he suffered a fatal fall at his residence.
