Small wonders of the Mara — a lone zebra crossing the road like it owns it, and a ground hornbill that looked way more interesting than we expected.

The Mara's predators don't wait for good lighting. A lone male lion patrolling near a kill, a cheetah resting in the shade, and a pride finishing what they started — this is survival, real-time.

Save this if wildlife photography is your thing. 🦁

— this is the real stuff.

The scale of the Maasai Mara is hard to describe until you're standing in it. Herds for miles, giraffes just going about their day — this is what Kenya looks like outside the city.

Save this if Kenya just made your bucket list. 📌

— feel free to steal this one. 👀

We built in a fun day between the work — the Giraffe Centre in Nairobi. Getting that close to a giraffe is wild enough on its own, but watching Katherine and Hazel feed them was the actual highlight of the whole trip for me. Followed it up with a stop at a local gift shop for handmade souvenirs. 10/10 recommend both if you're ever in Nairobi.

One more look at where we stayed — tucked right into Nairobi's greenery.
