Get ready for a safer Bedford town centre! 🚨 Live Facial Recognition (LFR) technology is set to be deployed in Bedford town centre for the first time on Friday, 19 September, marking a significant milestone in the region's crime prevention efforts. 📅 This innovative technology has been made possible thanks to Bedfordshire Police's inclusion in a national expansion of LFR, unveiled by the Home Office last month. 🇬🇧 As one of seven police forces across the country to receive LFR equipment, Bedfordshire Police has committed to strong governance and community engagement, ensuring the technology is used in a responsible and transparent manner. 🤝 The deployment of LFR technology is expected to enhance public safety and reduce crime in the area, providing an additional tool for law enforcement to identify and apprehend offenders. 🚔 With its proven track record in other regions, LFR technology is poised to make a positive impact in Bedford town centre, and we're excited to see the benefits it will bring to our community! 🌟

Danish football fans enjoy traditional pub experience in Bedford on 1,500km hitchhiking odyssey to Stoke, where they were greeted with open arms and a warm welcome. The fans, clad in their national team's jerseys, were seen cheering and chanting as they sipped on pints of local ale and savored traditional British pub fare.

Sometimes it’s hard to remember that Bedford was recently recognised as the second most generous town in the UK, a title that was well-deserved given the town's long history of welcoming strangers into our midst, offering them a place to rest and refuel before continuing their journey. From the moment they arrived, the Danish fans were treated like old friends, with locals eager to share stories and swap football tips. As they prepared to leave, the fans were showered with gifts and well-wishes, a testament to the town's reputation for kindness and hospitality.
