🚨 BREAKING NEWS: A legislative townhall hosted today by KCRCC with our elected representatives unfolded under heightened security, with extra deputies and security personnel deployed due to an active threat targeting one of the participating legislators.
The event quickly spiraled into chaos as Leftist and Democratic Party activists, including Democratic candidate Teresa Borrenpohl, relentlessly disrupted the event by verbally attacking the legislators. Borrenpohl, alongside at least five other recognized activists from local progressive circles—including two fellow ‘Save NIC’ members—shouted down legislators with insults like "bigots" and "liars" throughout the meeting, drowning out attempts at dialogue.
The group vocally cheered any mention of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, erupting in applause and chants, while loudly booing every reference to the Bible or President Donald Trump, drawing sharp rebukes from attendees. After repeated disruptions, security asked Borrenpohl to leave due to her persistent outbursts.
She refused, violently resisted removal, and apparently bit a security guard in the struggle. Borrenpohl, a ‘Save NIC’ activist, is also accused of pulling a fire alarm at a prior North Idaho College board meeting to halt proceedings.
The disruption appeared premeditated, as ‘Save NIC’ and ‘North Idaho Republican’ Christa Hazel had publicly rallied her activist base to flood the townhall, fueling the disorder that unfolded. The activists’ relentless yelling and insults had left the meeting in disarray, but midway through the Q&A session, the disruptive leftists finally relented, giving up their efforts and walking out in frustration, swearing and yelling final jabs as they departed.
Back on track, legislators were able to answer constituents’ questions and a constructive dialogue with the elected representatives to resume. More details unfolding.
