New video is now live on SimOnTrains!

Today I’m visiting Springfield, which might just be the most awkward railway station in Fife.

It is the least-used station in Fife, has only a handful of trains per day, and the timetable is so awkward that I decided the best way to get there was not by train… but on foot from Cupar.

In the video, I take a look around Springfield station, explain why it only gets a limited service, explore a bit of its history, and ask whether this really is the most awkward railway station in Fife.

Apologises on the video being out late, was meant to be published on the 31st May but I was away at Model Rail Crewe, didn't had my laptop with me but the video when saving got corrupted and made the decision to delay it by 24 hours

New video is now live on SimOnTrains!

When most people think of the Fife Circle, they usually picture the Forth Bridge, the coastal route, Burntisland, Kirkcaldy and the views across the Firth of Forth.

But in today’s video, I’m heading around the overlooked inland side of the Fife Circle, visiting stations including Dunfermline City, Dunfermline Queen Margaret, Cowdenbeath, Lochgelly, Cardenden and Glenrothes with Thornton.

Along the way, I look at the history of the route, former railway branches, lost connections, the Levenmouth link, and why this side of the Fife Circle deserves more attention.

There were also a few filming problems too… including an SD card issue that meant part of the journey had to be revisited!

This Sunday’s SimOnTrains video takes me to a forgotten station with a name almost every railway fan will recognise: Moorgate.

Not the famous London station, but Moorgate Halt, a long-disused stop hidden between Huddersfield and Stalybridge.

I visit the site, look at what remains, and explore the story behind this little-known piece of railway history.

Today we’re tackling the the first of two cross-border Station Anagram. These two stations share the exact same 8 letters but are separated by over 200 miles of track.

But hit a wall at Wigan with a 5-minute connection between North Western and Wallgate. that could nearly in the words of GLovesTrains.... go melons up!😱

I found a "Hidden Gem" that the GWR was legally FORCED to build! 🚂🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

In my latest video, I’m traveling from Bristol Temple Meads into the heart of the Avon Valley. We’re visiting three stations that nearly didn't survive history—including one that only exists because local investors took the railway giants to court!

From tiny 1-coach platforms to stunning aqueduct views that left me speechless, this was an incredible day out on the Wessex Main Line.

I was at the NEC yesterday for Model World Live and picked up two mystery bags, one from Sawyer Models and the other was from Oxford Rail which had a promotion on at the show, Free Model with every show guide and if you pay a £1 more... you get another model.

I have no idea what's inside these as I put them straight into my bag and 'unboxed' them when I got home!

Why do the tracks keep going? 🤔

Most people treat a terminus station like the end of the world, but at Neilston, the journey is just getting started. I recently visited the end of this Glasgow branch line to look at its rare "over-run" layout.
