Once we reclaim it and share it immersively, we begin creating a singularity that is decentralized and truly human. In a world shaped by algorithms that script what we feel and think, the rarest and most necessary thing will be the truth of our own lived experience. The irony is that the very engines that erode the ‘true self’ will also sell it back to us.

Sometimes when editing it’s necessary to find an early edition of a long-out-of-print book to source the text or check something as simple as a misplaced apostrophe.

Preparing to proofread the excellent notes of Michael Copp and Elizabeth Vandiver for our forthcoming centenary edition of poet Richard Aldington’s long-lost A Fool i’ the Forest, this copy landed on our desk.

Long before the towering piles of advance reading copies were shoved into Jiffy bags, awkwardly labelled with peeling, smudged stickers spat out by mail-merge programmes, here’s how it used to go. So polite in asking to review. Maybe we should resort to handwritten notes… Observer, if you’re reading, Messrs Renard would have pleasure in sending the updated work for review… 😁

Absolutely delighted to announce the Interwoven longlist today, with huge thanks to tireless judges , , and , who whittled down a phenomenal 700 entries to a longlist of 100 extraordinary poems. Huge congrats to all poets on the list, but enormous thanks to all who entered – if only we had space for more. It’s been a joy and a privilege to read.
