BANZAI!!! The samurai or bushi were initially nobles and aristocratic warriors, but then the term started to apply to every member of the warrior class that rose to power in the 12th century. During the 15th and 16th centuries, Japan split into dozens of independent states constantly at war between them. It was in the late 1500s when the country was finally reunited, and a rigorous social caste system was established during the Edo Period that placed the samurai at the top. Japan’s feudal era finally ended in 1868, and the samurai class was abolished a couple of years later. Although Samurais no longer exists, their influence remains alive in the Japanese culture

From there, the idea arose to create a technique that would transform the fragments of the piece into beauty and art. However, even though this technique originated only as a solution to aesthetic problems, it has an underlying philosophy: the Zen Buddhist ideals of Wabi-Sabi.
