Diambi Kabatusuila was crowned as the ruler of the Bena Tshiyamba People of Bakwa Indu of Central Kasaï Region part of the ancient Luba Empire in the Democratic Republic of Congo on August 31st 2016.

YES 10 YEARS ALREADY ‼️

Today marks ten years since I was entrusted with the sacred duty of reigning as Queen of the Order of the Leopard, of the Bena Tshiyamba Bakwa Luntu People of Central Kasai, in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Ten years ago, I put this crown on as a duty. Today, I wear it with profound gratitude.

I am proud, I am honoured, and I am truly moved by all the love I have received around the world.

I have been crowned numerous times - not for vanity, but as a sign of allegiance. Allegiance from different communities, different villages, different countries, different peoples. Each crown was a promise of trust. And I have carried each one in my heart.

To be chosen as a representative for so many is the greatest honour of my life.

This is a moment of grace, when you get to see the fruits of your perseverance.

For the next ten years, my only wish is to amplify this power - not power for myself, but power to make a difference. To bring positive impact, solutions and hope to even more of my people, and to more people around the world.

Thank you for walking these ten years with me. Thank you for your allegiance, your love, your prayers and relentless support. 💖💖💖💖

I AM HOME.
After months of traveling around the world, carrying our flag high, my feet are finally back on the sacred soil of Congo.
And my heart is full.
How can I not love this country so much? For so many reasons.
Congo is the source of it all. The beginning. The heart of Africa. The lung of the world. The energy here is so potent, you can feel it in your bones the moment you land. It charges you. It heals you. It remembers you.
And the people... our people are so strong, so beautiful, so resilient. You see courage in every smile. You see grace in every struggle.
For years, I have traveled as a cultural ambassador, from Brazil to Panama, from Europe to the United States, with one mission: to restore a positive narrative about our Congo.
To tell the world who we truly are.
We are not the war they show on TV. We are not the pity they try to sell.
We are 450+ ethnic groups, 450 ways of dancing, singing, weaving, healing, praying. We are the Kingdom of Kongo, the Luba, the Lunda, the Bakuba, the Mangbetu ; formidable empires that built art, science, math, medicine and spirituality when the world was still learning.
We are resilience. We are courage. We are joy that no suffering could ever kill.
My role, my duty, my joy is to remind the world and to remind ourselves: Congo is magnificent. Congo is the future.
I am home to recharge in our potent energy, to be with our strong and beautiful people, to continue the work from the source.

May 2022. Portobelo, Panama. I knelt on the ground of my ancestors and was crowned Queen of the Congo People of Panama Reina de los Congo de Panama— to carry their voice around the world.
They are the descendants of the first Africans who freed themselves in the Americas. For 400 years they have kept Congo alive in Panama. UNESCO calls their culture a treasure of humanity. I call them family.
Proud, formidable, full of rhythm, memory and reverence for our ancestors from the Congo Basin.
I will never stop shouting your name to the world. I will never stop building the bridge back to the Congo.

From a whisper to a voice heard around the world.
Over the years, my voice kept amplifying.
I was blessed to be invited to speak all over the world — from small community gatherings to the biggest stages: Davos, Forbes, Nobel Peace Prize ceremonies, the United Nations, Dubai, Monaco, London, Brazil, Ghana, Eswatini, Cameroon, Portugal...
It has been a tremendous honor to represent my people. To carry the voice of my ancestors, of my Kingdom of Bakwa Luntu, of my beloved Congo, and of Africa into rooms where we were not always invited.
I did not go to speak only for myself. I went to remind the world of who we are.
And now, to be called a reference of wisdom, a thought influencer... I receive it with humility and gratitude.
This was never about me. It was about service. About ensuring that when decisions are made about Africa, Africa is in the room.
Thank you to every conference, every university, every community that opened its doors to me. Thank you for listening, for learning with me, for allowing me to share.
The journey continues. The voice will keep rising, for our people.

This is my Africa! 🖤❤️💚
Everywhere I went on this continent, I found my brothers and sisters.
Kings and Queens who opened their doors to me. Who welcomed me, encouraged me, and supported my work over the years while I was walking all over the world to speak on the greatness of our collective hero and building bridges between Africa and her children in the Diaspora and beyond.
I lived, in its purest form, what fraternal respect and compassion truly mean.
We came from different kingdoms. Different languages. Different traditions and different regalia. So very different from one another.
And yet, we were the same.
United by our common humanity. United by the same fight: for the right of every one of our people to have the liberty to live happy, proud to belong to their communities, and proud to be the heirs of long and rich ancestral traditions.
To all my Royal brothers and sisters across Africa who are in this video and those who are not — thank you for teaching me what Ubuntu really is.
I carry you with me, always.

At the beginning of my reign, I made a choice: to travel across Africa to meet my brother Kings.
To introduce myself, to pay my respects, to listen and to learn.
They welcomed me with such kindness, with open arms and open hearts. They shared their wisdom and their journey with me so generously.
In that journey I understood something powerful: our Kings have been there since time immemorial. They have survived through colonization, through division, through so many challenges, and they are still standing today.
They are beacons of hope, and custodians of the wisdom we need to restructure our identity, our thought process, and our societies so we can thrive as African people
I am forever grateful to all the Kings who opened their doors to me. Your wisdom still guides me.

When I was first crowned, I felt lost and alone.
I did not know how to be a Queen. The crown felt heavy, and the path ahead felt unclear.
In that moment of confusion, one King extended his hand to me first.
His Imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi — a dear friend, a powerful King, and a true brother.
He showed me respect. He showed me compassion. He took his time to make sure I had the counsel, the encouragement, and the reassurance I needed.
He looked at me and reminded me that I was able. That I was capable. That I could stand tall and find the strength and courage to walk the walk of a Queen for my people.
I will forever be thankful to him for his kind heart and for his relentless encouragement in those early days.
Some people wear a crown. Others help you learn how to wear yours.

I was crowned by surprise.
I was confused, unprepared. I had no idea what was required of me.
But when the noise of panic finally stopped, I could hear my heart again.
And my heart said: There is a reason for this.
I chose to trust that reason, even when I did not understand it.
My quest to walk on my path did not end that day. It truly began. 💖💖💖

10 years ago, my people entrusted me with the torch.
A torch that has been burning for thousands of years.
We have endured so much, yet we are still here — on our ancestral land, carrying our heritage.
I am humbled to be one custodian in a long line of those who kept it alive. It is with pride and honor that I have been able to go all over the world to illuminate the path for all those who were forcefully deported to see that all along the way, they have never been forgotten and the light will always stay on as we are awaiting the return of every single Ancestor and their descendants for as long as we will be there.
I accepted to carry the torch from the past, in the present, for the future.❤️💚🖤
