On April 7, 2025, activists, civil society organizations, and individuals from around the world are joining forces in a Global Strike to Stop the Genocide in Gaza. The strike is part of an international campaign calling for an immediate end to the ongoing Israeli aggression and humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip.

Organized by a coalition of human rights groups, the strike urges people to take action by refusing to work, attend school, or engage in business for one day, in solidarity with the Palestinian people. Demonstrations, vigils, and public events are also being planned globally to raise awareness and pressure governments to act.

This movement comes in response to the continued bombardment of Gaza, which has resulted in thousands of casualties, widespread destruction, and a deepening humanitarian crisis. Organizers say the strike sends a powerful message: the world is watching, and it demands justice.

These were the words of Moroccan engineer Ibtihal Abu Saad, who stood up at Microsoftโ€™s 50th anniversary and interrupted the event while Mustafa Suleyman, Microsoftโ€™s AI CEO, was delivering his speech to call out the companyโ€™s involvement in enabling the Israeli military in Gaza.

She risked her career to say the truth out loud:
โ€œAll Microsoft employees have blood on their hands. How dare you all celebrate while Microsoft is killing children? Shame on all of you!โ€

Later, she shared a letter saying her AI work was used to empower tools that contribute to what she called โ€œgenocideโ€ in Palestine.

She is not alone. Microsoft has a pattern of silencing employees who protest its military ties.

In a world of silence, her voice matters.
