A look back at our kitchen renovation which was now a whole 5 years ago!! Where does the time go?

What do your prefer, the before or after? 🫠

I also get asked where the bar stools are from quite a lot. If you comment STOOL I’ll drop you a link of where you can buy them from! 🤎

Little Girl’s DIY Drawer Upcycle 🔨

I absolutely loved giving these drawers a new lease of life, and they now fit perfectly in Isla’s bedroom! From previously trying to cut the drawers out of the shot, they are now prime view as you walk in the room.

Would you have a go at adding mouldings to furniture to give it a new look?

Our en-suite was previously a small box room at the front of the house. We always knew that we wanted to change it into an en-suite from day one.

Through lots of early on planning, like 3 years before we actually had the work done, we have been able to create the most beautiful earthy and warm en-suite. Perfect addition for our master suite!

Flick through to see unseen photos of how we achieved this space!

Here’s a BEFORE and AFTER for you, because who doesn’t love to have a nosey of what it was like before!

This room is now our little girls nursery, although now it’s definitely more of a grown up toddler room. People always tell you how fast that time goes but I don’t think I was actually prepared for it!

You may have spotted I was on my stories the other day asking for your help in choosing a colour for one of the projects that I have coming up in here. So many amazing recommendations, but I still can’t decide 😂. I’m going to get lots of paint testers ordered and take it from there!

Watch this space! 👀

Living life on your own terms is exactly what this audio is all about 🙌🏼

Renting or not, imagine the freedom of creating your dream home, even if it means risking that deposit! Nothing beats the joy of living in a space that truly reflects your personality and style.

I have a friend who is currently trying to sell her home, and the feedback she is getting is that the decor is too much. She’s being told to redecorate…Would you redecorate your home in order to sell it?

So many of you loved the floating shelf I made in my last reel so I thought I’d show you all exactly how I made it! So easy and super cheap to do, even a novice DIYer like me was able to take this on. I think all in it cost about £20 to make - absolute bargain, so if you are looking for affordable budget DIYs this is definitely one you should be taking on 🙌🏼

For us the floating shelf was an accidental DIY project, and we only really did it to ensure it worked with the kitchen splash back we went for. I had the timber shelf cut to size by a local timber merchant, so all we had to do really was drill the holes for the floating shelf fixings in the wall and timber shelf and then push into place! Luckily for me, the Limewash paint I used on the shelf was left over from another project and I personally think it’s a great match 🙌🏼.

As the depth of the shelf is quite narrow, it doesn’t block the extractor and it’s holding up well being exposed to moisture. It’s been installed for over a year now and so far so good!

You may have spotted on my stories, but at the weekend we finally got round to putting up this gorgeous light and canopy, and oh my goodness it’s transformed the room! Abracadabra!

It’s really softened the room, and made it instantly feel more cosy. What do you think of the new additions?

It might sound really cliche but the best part of my day is sitting down on the rocking chair with my baby girl and having cuddles before she goes to sleep!

Recently I shared my main bathroom, and some of you picked up on that this room used to in fact be a bedroom! Whilst some of you will think we are mad for doing this, there was some logic. The house itself is 5 bed, and still is. Whilst we now have 3 doubles and 2 singles rather than 4 doubles. We now have a fully functional family bathroom rather than a small squashed in bathroom that you couldn’t swing a cat in!

If you are ever thinking of relocating a bathroom, or changing a bedroom into a bathroom I’ve listed some useful tips below!

1. *Planning and Design*: Determine the layout and design of the new bathroom, considering plumbing, electrical, and structural requirements.

2. *Demolition*: Remove existing fixtures, such as built in wardrobes etc. Demolish walls if necessary to create space for plumbing and fixtures.

3. *Plumbing and Electrical Work*: Install or reroute plumbing and electrical lines to accommodate the new bathroom layout. This may involve hiring professionals to ensure safety and compliance with building regs.

4. *Structural Modifications*: Make any necessary structural modifications, such as reinforcing floors or walls to support the weight of fixtures like a bathtub or shower.

5. *Installation of Fixtures*: Install the bathroom fixtures, including the toilet, sink, bathtub, or shower. Consider factors like ventilation, lighting, and storage options.

6. *Flooring and Wall Finishes*: Choose and install flooring and wall finishes that are suitable for a bathroom environment, such as tiles, waterproof vinyl, or laminate.

7. *Painting and Decoration*: Paint the walls and ceiling, and add decorative elements such as mirrors, shelves, and artwork to personalize the space.

8. *Finishing Touches*: Install accessories such as towel racks, toilet paper holders, and shower curtains to complete the transformation.

Throughout the process, it’s essential to adhere to local building codes and regulations, obtain necessary permits, and work with qualified professionals when needed to ensure the project is completed safely and successfully.

I didn’t even realise until last night that I hadn’t posted any stills of the nursery! (Be kind as it’s still not finished 🤦🏻‍♀️). There is still work to do in here such as the curtains need to go up along with a blind and a new light fitting!

Reflecting on the journey from the first time we laid eyes on this space 5 years ago is mind-blowing – it’s been quite the transformation! This year, we’re easing up on the DIYs (though my paintbrush still has a grip on me). Time to shift focus to family moments. 🤎

Swipe through to catch a glimpse of the “before” shots – the transformation is real! 📸

Seeing as you all loved the en-suite, I thought I would share a few stills of the main bathroom. Which to be honest, currently resembles a storage room for all the DIY bits 😅. The longer the house renovation goes on the less space we have for storing all the decorating bits, so recently we have just been throwing it all in here 🙈. Definitely need to have a good sort out in here!

This bathroom was installed around 3 and half a years ago now, and whilst it’s very different to our en-suite it definitely has some similarities. The muted tones along with black details appear to be a common thread in our home, what’s the common thread in yours?
