I lived in San Diego for 40 years (1981-2021) before retiring and moving to Las Vegas. With the Olympics right around the corner, the Times of San Diego (online newspaper) contacted me for a just-published "where are they now" piece.

The sixth paragraph says: "(Lovitt) also claims to be the first, play-by-play TV announcer for a volleyball match that aired on ESPN-TV in September 1979."

Not a "claim." Fact.
