The Bethi Celebration was successfully held at Geyzing Omchung, organized by the Agriculture Department in coordination with the District Administration, Gyalshing. The event was organised to mark the beginning of the paddy plantation season and to promote traditional agricultural practices rooted in Sikkim’s rich cultural heritage.

The programme was graced by the presence of the Hon’ble Area MLA, active participation from local farmers, officials, and community members. In his address, he appreciated the efforts of the Agriculture Department and the District Administration for organizing such events that revive and preserve traditional customs. He also encouraged farmers to continue adopting sustainable practices while staying connected to their roots.

Gwala Diwas was celebrated with great enthusiasm and success at Manan Kendra, organized by the Sikkim Milk Union. The event witnessed the active participation of farmers, dairy producers, and key stakeholders from across the state, highlighting the significance of the dairy sector in Sikkim’s rural economy.

The presence of Hon’ble MLA Shri Lok Nath Sharma added immense value and inspiration to the celebration. A dedicated pathfinder in the welfare of farmers and the dairy community, Shri Sharma has played a pivotal role in strengthening Gwala Diwas during his tenure as Minister. His consistent efforts in uplifting the dairy sector, ensuring fair prices for milk producers, and supporting rural livelihoods have left a lasting impact.

He was warmly welcomed and appreciated for his visionary leadership, tireless dedication, and deep commitment to the farming community. His presence at the event served not only as a symbol of continued support but also as a motivation for all stakeholders to further strengthen the dairy movement in Sikkim.

A District Outreach Programme on Skill Development was successfully conducted today at Gyalshing under the banner of SIKKIM INSPIRES, commemorating World Youth Skills Day 2025. The event was organized by ITI Gyalshing, under the Skill Development Department, Government of Sikkim, in collaboration with the District Skill Committee, Gyalshing.

The programme was graced by the Hon’ble Area MLA Shri. L N Sharma as the Chief Guest, whose presence added encouragement and inspiration to the youth and attendees. In his address, the MLA emphasized the crucial role of skill development in nation-building and praised the government’s initiatives to empower young people through practical and industry-relevant training.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from local youth, students, educators, trainers, and government officials. Career counselling sessions, skill trade demonstrations, and interactive discussions were part of the day’s highlights.

Delighted to join the Hon’ble Governor Shri Om Prakash Mathur Ji, my Cabinet colleagues, MP (Lok Sabha), MLAs, dignitaries, Chief Secretary, DGP, officials, and students for the 11th International Day of Yoga celebrations held at the indoor hall, Paljor Stadium.

I wholeheartedly applaud the initiative of the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, who strived towards providing international recognition to the ancient practice of Yoga, the heritage and glory of our country.

On this occasion, the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi Ji, addressed the nation from Vishakapatnam, where he stated that after 11 years, yoga is now woven into the lives of millions worldwide and called this edition "Yoga for Humanity 2.0," reinforcing its global significance.

I extend a debt of gratitude to the National Ayush Mission under the Health and Family Welfare department for organizing the event.
