In honor of our 48th Anniversary, here’s a few tidbits about our special day from each photo:
1. How I met my bridesmaids (left to right). Rosemary is actually my aunt. She is my mom’s second youngest sister. Amalia and I met at my brother’s apartment. We loved salsa dancing on the weekends. You all met my maid of honor Ronii and next to her is my dear friend Sandra. We met in elementary school and grew up together— over 60 years of friendship. Next is my younger sister Janice who everyone thinks is my twin but we just look alike. We are best friends and I miss her dearly. Rest in peace.
2. I designed and made my wedding dress. It took me about 8 months to finish and it turned out exactly how I imagined. It was actually a two piece— a blouse and a skirt. I still have it stored in an airtight bag and it has maintained so well.
3. I also designed all the bridesmaids dresses. I specifically wanted my maid of honor to wear a floral dress and my bridesmaids wore solid lilac dresses.
4. My maid of honor’s name is Veronica but everyone calls her Ronii. We met at work. I was a fashion designer in LA and she was my fit model. We became fast friends and are still close friends to this day.
5. There’s the groom! My husband Michael wanted to wear a white tuxedo, which was a favorite choice in the 70s. He looked so handsome!
6. This is my younger “big” brother Art. We lost our parents at a young age and unfortunately my dad couldn’t walk me down the aisle so my brother Arthur did the honors. I love and miss him so much. Rest in peace.
7. Thank you for all the love and support regarding our 48th anniversary. From our wedding day to today, we are so thankful for everyone’s love and support throughout the years 💍
