Lisa and I are absolutely shattered to tell you of the passing today, surrounded by family, of news anchor and mother, friend and incredible fighter, Bev Thomson.
I can assure you she had the sweetest, biggest heart and was a lovely, wonderful person. She had battled cancer for years and passed away this morning at only 61. Bev, rest always in peace. E & L

LOTS of stories tomorrow in Ep 143!
We're grateful to be home in Sidney BC after driving past the Mine Creek fire just off the Coquihalla (known for TV's "Highway to Hell") yesterday. Firefighters continue to battle the 3000 hectare blaze, and we saw brave helicopter pilots scooping and dumping water. Last week this major artery to Vancouver was closed, but as you can see also see, there were areas where the skies were clear. What an incredible week's road trip it was!

As the Beatles sang, "It was 20 years ago today..." I returned to my radio home, CHFI. Those were two BIG years away, teaching me that what looks like the end, is often a beginning. I found Mike Cooper and began the most rewarding chapter of my career. Thanks to the Toronto Star for the pic, and most of all to YOU for making the ride - even on top of a bus - amazing. E.
