Walk more and regularly engage in exercise.

Emeka was already sweating while seated at the Hospital reception.

It was the 15th time he was praying to God to forgive him of his many sins.

He said he would not try what he did again if God forgave him.

And when the thought of how he pushed Nneka on the bed the night before flashed into his mind, he became more terrified. Nneka demanded a condom before they do but he refused.

He had come to the hospital to carry out a pre-employment viral test. The test includes HIV, hepatitis B and C tests.

A nurse passed by. She stared at Emeka and frowned. Emeka's mind skipped.

' E fit be say my result no good that's why she is frowning ' he told himself.

He bowed and prayed again, rubbing his sweaty palm on his face.

It was almost 30 minutes since his blood sample was taken.

A tall, fair lady came out of one of the rooms and handed a white envelope to him.

With jittery hands, he opened it while speaking in tongues.

He peeped and rushed over the paper with eyes, looking if there would be any bad report.

Alas, he heaved a sigh of relief.

The results were normal.

Emeka smiled. He can now resume his new job. A highly-paying job abroad.

But when he stood up to leave the hospital, something told him to go get the number of one of the nurses. The tall fair one.

He advanced towards the door where the nurse entered minutes ago so he could meet her.

But when he heard another voice saying

'You don start again '

He stopped, turned back and started heading home.

By 4 AM on a certain day, while doing my house manship in Abuja, a man screeched to a halt in front of the Emergency Department and screamed for help.

According to him, his girlfriend was gasping for air. We rushed out towards his direction and helped convey her to the Hospital from his car.

We checked her pulse, her respiratory rate, and her pupil and did CPR.

She was already dead.

The man was crying uncontrollably.

We felt his pain.

But when it was time to get her basic information, we noticed he did not know any. Not even her name.

He kept saying I call her baby.

He later revealed they met on social media two days before and she came to his house for the first time that night.
He admitted that they were having s*x when the breathlessness started.

I hope we draw lessons from this story.

They couldn't get “DIALYSIS MACHINES” to send to his secret location in Lagos.

Our State Governors need to build more cancer and dialysis centres in our states. This is not too much to ask.

It will benefit all of us, Government officials inclusive.

Young people need to know that the complications of s*xually transmitted infections (STI ) include infertility, risk of HIV, pregnancy-related problems, constant abdominal pain and lots more.

Some people are battling with cancers because of human papillomavirus infection acquired as a result of STI

This is why you should insist on a condom if you cannot embrace abstinence.

You should insist on using a condom while having s*x to save your life.

In 2000, out of 420 million people who defecate openly, 67% resided in South Asia while 17% resided in Sub-Saharan Africa.

But in 2022, out of the number of people who poo openly, Sub-Saharan Africa has 47% while South Asia has 44%.

In Nigeria, out of our total population of about 220 Million, about 40 million people are still 'doing the do' outside, in the open air, in people's farms, on the road etc

and this is not helping the environment.

Open defecation pollutes the environment and contaminates sources of drinking water. Dirty water if taken increases the spread of cholera and dysentery.

We have a task to speak to the people closer to us and discourage them from defecating openly.

Eat well but eat less frequently.

Avoid snacking in between meals.

Eating every now and then ( no matter the size of the food ), increases your chances of gaining more weight.

It also leads to insulin resistance. Insulin resistance increases the risk of type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure

So after eating, let your mouth rest till your next meal. No snacking or eating in between.

The state of your teeth speaks a lot about your overall hygiene.

6 things to do in other to have cleaner/healthier teeth and gums

1.Brush your teeth at least twice a day.

2. After brushing, spit. Do not rinse.

3. Clean in between your teeth using floss or interdental brushes.

4. Have regular dental check-ups.

5. Reduce your intake of surgery food or drinks

6. Stop smoking
