🩹 [Volume 2] Frail Modernities: Latin American Infrastructures between Repair and Ruination

👥Edited by Raquel Velho and Sebastián Ureta

From collapsed Brazilian tailings dams to patchwork urban grids, infrastructures in Latin America expose the fragility of modernity. Once hailed as engines of progress, they now reveal themselves through decay, breakdown, and ruination—yet also through practices of repair, maintenance, and creative appropriation. This cluster explores how infrastructures shape and unravel states, communities, and environments, showing how ruin and repair sit at the heart of nation-(un)building in the region.
