We normally wait until mid-week to post the album cover for the episode that we release but we couldn’t miss the opportunity to acknowledge that the cosmic powers aligned in a way that our episode 12 on “Abbey Road” released today, the same date that the album cover of this release was photographed in 1969. We are not clever enough to have planned this…. Or are we??? Check out our new episode today wherever you listen to your podcasts!

It's been long and sometimes winding, but Joel and Ian have almost reached the end of this journey. This week they discuss the last album ever recorded as a group, 1969's "Abbey Road."

In episode 12, basks in the simple songwriting brilliance of "Something," finally tells us his honest thoughts about "Maxwell's Silver Hammer," and they both just sit there and soak up the elemental heaviness of "I Want You (She's So Heavy)."

THIS IS NOT THE FINAL EPISODE OF SEASON ONE. We will be back next week for a final episode where Joel and Ian will talk through their feelings and experiences from out first season, "Ian Hears the Beatles" share their favorite and least favorite Beatles songs, rank all 12 albums and MORE! Join us then for the exciting conclusion!

Not sure what to watch tonight? Joel Michael Rousseau and Ian Zumback have a suggestion! This documentary has a 93% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and 9/10 on IMDbwith very good reason. If episode eleven where we discuss the album “Let it Be” and this documentary didn’t convince you to watch Peter Jackson’s incredible 3 part series, maybe this synopsis will help. The official synopsis is as follows: The Beatles write and rehearse 14 new songs as they plan their first live show in more than two years; includes their unforgettable rooftop concert at London's Savile Row.

In this clip from Episode 11, hosts Ian and Joel are focusing in on the emotional nature of watching Paul and John rediscover the magic while working on the song “Two of us.” It’s one of the most powerful scenes in Peter Jackson’s “Get Back” documentary. We highly encourage that you view “Get Back” if given the opportunity.

On this week’s episode we’re talking about the album “Let it Be.” We reference both the original commercial release and a later release titled “Let it Be…. Naked” with the latter removing many of the unauthorized production embellishments made by Phil Spector that were the straws that broke the camel’s back (that camel being Paul) and led to the breaking up of the Beatles. Here is the cover art for both albums.
