51 vs 15
My wonderful friend sent me this photo as a birthday flashback and it got me thinking about that young girl….
If I could, I’d time jump to have lunch with her. She was just back from Milan, which instilled a serious negative body image, despite being 56 kgs at 5’9!
I’d tell her to stop listening to the negativity and tell the model (who was also her booker at her agency) who told a client I had fat armpits (?!) so they’d book her and not me, to go and take a long jump off a short board. ps Still booked the lingerie campaign💪
I’d tell her about her 15 yr old son who was the most dedicated, focused and disciplined person I’d ever met, and that that steely grit was in me. The only difference was that he was surrounded by a very strong and protective family that encouraged and protected at all costs.
I’d tell her, no matter what, she’d be absolutely fine, to change nothing because one day she’d have the family she dreamed of and she’d still be ruled by Tonks. And despite being older with many more kgs on her, she’d learn who & what was truly important and value her time & peace of mind like the precious commodities that they were.
Then I’d tell her to have fun, to stop being so serious and enjoy being a kid whilst she could, give her a great big hug and send her own her way, knowing she was too stubborn to take any advice and would still always be polite, even to that wannabe model/booker with the negative energy.
If you could, what would you say to your young self that could potentially bring them comfort?
Thanks for the memory George, shooting with you were some of my favourite lifelong memories. 📸🩷
ps. Currently editing and filming content after experiencing a really rough patch of vertigo. Sometimes life forces you to sit still and I’m finally listening. Looks like I outgrew that stubbornness.😉
