The European Digital Diplomacy Exchange (EDDE) Skills Workshop and Learning Tour in Washington D.C. at the U.S. Department of State has come to an end.

After 4 days of exchange of experience, good practice sharing, skills building and networking, the real work truly begins, with long-term participation and cooperation of the EDDE network on the joint challenges and opportunities in the digital environment, creating a more connected, transparent, resilient, trustworthy and safe world 🌎 one message and communication at a time.

A networking reception organised by Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Washington, D.C. U.S. Department of State and the Centre for European Perspective - CEP
took place on Wednesday, November 13th, as part of the European Digital Diplomacy Exchange (EDDE) Skills Workshop and Learning Tour in Washington D.C.

The introductory remarks were presented by the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia, His Excellency Mr Iztok Mirošič, Senior Digital Coordinator, U.S. Department of State Mr Matt Jacobs and Head of Programme, Centre for European Perspective Mrs Ingrid Omahna.

The discussions focused on challenges and opportunities in the information environment of today, partnerships and responsibilities of all stakeholders within our digital environment and the importance of partnership and cooperation between 🇺🇸🤝🇸🇮.

The second day of the European Digital Diplomacy Exchange (EDDE) Skills Workshop and Learning Tour in Washington, D.C. at U.S. Department of State continued with meetings together with expert groups in the field of research, analytics and communication.

The first day of the European Digital Diplomacy Exchange (EDDE) Skills Workshop and Learning Tour in Washington, D.C. included meetings, discussions and exchanges of experience between strategic communicators and data analysts, together with teams of experts working within the U.S. Department of State.

The opening remarks of the event were presented by Mr James P. Rubin, Special Envoy and Coordinator for the Global Engagement Center.

We are excited for the four-day Skills Workshop and Learning Tour in this week, organised through the European Digital Diplomacy Exchange (EDDE) network from November 12th to 15th, 2024, in Washington, D.C.

This workshop, organized in collaboration with the U.S. Department of State and the Centre for European Perspective - CEP offers opportunities for diplomats and analysts to develop skills, share best practices, and build networks for fostering a more secure, informed information space.

We are thrilled to have organized another successful European Digital Diplomacy Exchange (EDDE) training for government communicators in Sofia, Bulgaria, from September 10-12. Supported by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Embassy Sofia, this unique event focused on promoting democracy through a national selfie! Over three days, participants gained valuable insights on how to communicate better in order to strengthen democratic values. We are proud to work together in empowering governments and their citizens to connect and collaborate for a better future.

We’ve just wrapped up the EDDE 2024 Advanced Training in Slovenia! Over the last week, diplomats and communication experts from across Europe gathered at Jable Castle for three days to learn from leading minds in digital diplomacy. Topics covered included AI in strategic communications, crisis communications, and influencer collaboration and many more. A huge thank you to our partners at the U.S. Department of State, speakers and wonderful participants for making this event such a success!
