Lots of showers and thunderstorms for our western counties of this evening as a tropical disturbance makes its way towards us. Look for the possibility of gusty winds, lightning, and heavy rain before it’s set and done around sunset.

More of the same continues on Tuesday, but the impacts from this system should be along the by mid to late week!

Something to closely monitor this week!

JUST IN: An official area to watch for tropical development in the next 7 days over Florida and into the Gulf. This is a similar setup that produced Tropical Storm Chantal into South Carolina earlier in July. A tropical low may form in the upper Gulf mid-end of next week.

For Floridians it probably is little worry as whatever forms will track likely WEST / or away from FL towards MS, TX, LA, or AL.

Some models, not all show some tropical development into a storm or possibly more. If you are on the upper Gulf coast I would watch this close for a slow moving system that could be a major rainmaker end of next week.

The moisture that will help form this will cause a lot of storms and downpours over central Florida Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
