It’s finally Halloween night, and we’re closing out our month of frights with something extra special — John Carpenter’s The Thing (1982).

Fun fact: this is the very movie Laurie Strode was watching on that fateful Halloween night in 1978 when Michael Myers came to town. Now, we’re watching Carpenter’s own chilling remake, starring Kurt Russell, and finishing our spooky season in true Apocalypse Trilogy style.

Our Halloween movie fest began with long days of canning fall’s best produce and baking sweet treats for our soon-to-arrive guests. As the scent of pumpkin spice fills the air and we add the final eerie touches to our haunt, it’s time for another film!

We finally did it — our first orb captured at a local haunt! 🎉🕯️ The spooky season energy is strong, and we’re channeling it straight into tonight’s movie: The Houses That October Built 🏚️

We love this one for how it dives deep into the thrill (and risk) of seeking the scariest haunted house experiences. It’s gritty, atmospheric, and feels a little too real — just how we like it this close to Halloween.
