From the shop to Your Wall: Introducing Custom Metal Art

Most of you know us for the work we do bringing classic cars back to life. We spend our days cutting, welding, and shaping steel to perfection.

We realized we could use those same skills (and that same high-quality American steel) to help you dress up your own garage, shop, or office.

We are officially launching our Custom Steel Sign division!

Whether you need a logo for your business, a tribute to your favorite muscle car, or a family name sign for the driveway, we are building them right here in the shop with the same attention to detail we put into our restorations.

Fresh paint always has texture! I don’t care who you are—there is always going to be some "orange peel" or texture in the finish.

You’ll see videos of paint looking like a perfect mirror fresh out of the booth, but don't let that mislead you. Modern phone cameras automatically sharpen and "edit" images to hide flaws.

I believe in being transparent, so I wanted to show you what the paint actually looks like and how to correct it.

This video walks you through my process for wet sanding and buffing. I do this to every single car I paint, so I always plan ahead and lay down enough material to work with.

The key to a professional quality paint job is in the paint prep, not the application of the paint!

Most of your time will be spent block sanding. It can be a major waste of time, if you don't know how to approach it strategically. This is the method I've used for years now to get these cars ready for paint!

Here's a little example of some issues we come across in the shop!

This customer's pickup had some warning signs, but I never would have guessed expanding foam! 🤔

This causing significant damage and in this scenario required some metal fabrication to take care of the issue.

The 1956 Chevy left for upholstery a couple days ago!

It's unrecognizable from the car that was originally dropped off!

It'll be back for some finishing touches like exterior molding and tuning!

I love my shop truck, but there are a couple things that need to be improved!

I'm laying the groundwork for a turbo build on my 1967 F100!

No more one wheel burnouts! (not that I've ever done a burnout) Building it the right way with a better rear end setup!
