Breaking: North Oconee High School 4-star EDGE Khamari Brooks commits to Georgia. Brooks, a member of the class of 2026, has had an exceptional high school career to this point, winning three state championships across two sports. He’ll hope to help the Titans defend their 2024 football state title this fall before heading to Athens.

Oconee County girls soccer head coach Judson Hamby with the Warriors’ two seniors, Kate Walker and Darby Boran, and a custom t-shirt celebrating the pair. Walker and Boran will leave OCHS as three-time state champions. Boran will play soccer at Georgia College and Walker will attend UGA.

Final: Oconee County beats Jefferson 1-0 to take the 3A state championship! A timely goal from Maddie Cass and an excellent defensive performance earn the Warriors a third straight state title. OCHS was outstanding throughout the playoffs, playing its best soccer when it mattered most.

Halftime of extra time: Oconee County maintains a 1-0 lead over Jefferson thanks to Cass’s goal. 10 minutes stands between the Warriors and a third straight state championship. The Dragons will throw everything they have at them.

Goal! Oconee County takes a 1-0 lead in the opening minute of extra time. A Jefferson defender played a poor pass back to the keeper, and Maddie Cass seized on the opportunity, taking the ball around the goalkeeper and finishing the shot with ease. Warriors now must defend.

End of regulation: Oconee County and Jefferson are still locked in a scoreless tie after 80 minutes. The Warriors applied pressure late but couldn’t find the breakthrough goal. The game will now head to two 10-minute halves of extra time.

About halfway through the second half, Oconee County and Jefferson are still tied at 0-0. OCHS freshman Maddie Cass had a breakaway chance in the 61st minute but couldn’t finish the shot. Looking more and more likely that the first team to score will win.

Halftime at McEachern: Oconee County and Jefferson remain tied at 0-0. Jefferson has had the bigger chances, but both defenses have played well to keep it goalless. Sophomore Sara Werth and freshman Maddie Cass have been the Warriors’ most threatening attackers so far. 40 more minutes of regulation to go.

23 minutes into the first half, the score remains 0-0 between the Dragons and Warriors. The biggest chance of the game so far came for Jefferson in the 14th minute, but Oconee County freshman goalkeeper Alison Winters made a massive save to deny the opportunity.

Final: Hebron Christian defeats Prince Avenue 56-28 to take the 3A-A Private State Championship. The Lions’ offense was explosive all game, and the Wolverines couldn’t make enough plays to keep up. Disappointing end to another strong season for Prince Avenue.
