💚
WHEN YOU WANT EVERYTHING TO STOP!
(Psalm 34:18 – “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”)
There are so many branches—so many reasons—why people fall into su***de.
It’s a deep well, one that feels like no one can ever reach the bottom.
And my heart goes out to those who are there right now. Because I understand.
God understands.
He is close to the brokenhearted.
Behind every person who takes their life, there’s often a similar thought pattern:
“This is too much.”
“I can’t handle this.”
“I can’t do this anymore.”
“I can’t get out of this.”
They start believing that the only solution is to make everything stop—
to stop the thoughts,
to stop the emotions,
to stop the pain.
But the truth is, suicidal people don’t really want to die.
They just want everything to stop.
My Story
I know this because I’ve been there.
There was a season in my life when everything was heavy.
So heavy that I couldn’t see a way out.
And three times—three times—it crossed my mind to end everything.
Not because I wanted to die, but because I wanted to stop feeling.
I wanted to stop the pain.
I wanted to stop the noise inside my head.
I was strong on the outside—preaching, leading, smiling—but inside, I was crumbling.
People saw my strength but never saw my struggle.
They saw my smile but not my sleepless nights.
And people often ask me now, “How did you overcome it?”
But the truth is — I didn’t.
I didn’t overcome it.
I ran to the One who already overcame it for me.
Jesus Carried It All
I ran to Jesus — the One who carried the weight and the pain of the whole world, including mine.
He overcame death.
He defeated despair.
He became victorious for me.
When I finally understood that, everything changed.
Because the root of su***de is “I, me, myself.”
It’s a world that revolves around my pain, my problem, my hopelessness.
But when I shifted my focus from me to Jesus, I found life again.
(Galatians 2:20 – “It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.”)
He gave me purpose in my pain.
He gave me peace in my pressure.
He gave me hope in my hopelessness.
A Message to the Broken
If you’re in that place right now — feeling like giving up — please hear me:
Don’t.
Your story is not over.
Jesus already won the victory for you.
Your life is precious.
Your life is powerful.
Your life is purposeful.
You are loved by a God who doesn’t just watch your pain —
He entered it.
And because He lives, you can live too.
(John 10:10 – “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”)
Final Words
Let’s rise up with compassion and awareness.
Let’s be the hands and the heart of Jesus to those silently suffering.
Check on your friends.
Listen deeply.
Speak life.
Because one word of hope can interrupt a thousand thoughts of despair.
You are not alone.
God is close to you — closer than your pain, closer than your breath.
And in Him, you will find life again. 💛
