A few RANDOM magnet fishing finds! 🤔

2) Leather stroping tool?
3) A very smelly cloth folding chair
4) ✂️
5) A keychain with light!

Found another TOY cast iron cap pew pew! (Can't call it what it is due to censoring, and even this might get taken down. Oh well. 😅🙃)
I think this makes 6 of these I've found now, they're fun little pieces of toy history!

✨️Throwback Thursday!✨️
And what a better way to kick these off, than with my very first big finds from 2021!
1) This seems to be an old faucet of some kind, and still remains one of my favorite finds; I've never pulled in anything quite like it since!
2) About a month later, I found my first chair (a common magnet fishing find) and first of two ever Scooters. The chair taught me two important magnet fishing lessons: 1: Some finds have the WORST smell you can fathom from being stuck in the river muck, and 2: sometimes magnet fishing finds come with friends! See picture 3 for my first unintentional magnet fishing buddy.
3) A little crayfish that had been living in the chair. Sorry for taking your home buddy! 😅🙃 I hope you found a new, stinky river chair to call home! (The crayfish was unharmed and safely returned to the river after this picture was taken)
There wasn't anything quite like my first season of magnet fishing; trying out new spots, magnets and techniques. Losing my first Magnet (rocks), and finding my first big items, it was so much fun!
I'm on year 4 now, and am just as excited today, right now, as I'm sitting here writing this up, to go magnet fishing tomorrow, as I was on day 1, waiting to try out my very first spot. Magnet fishing is just so unique and exciting, and it's what keeps me going out there over and over again. Searching for new potential spots during the off-season, and taking out new people with me whenever I can. It's all been worth every sunburn, lost gear, hours of driving, rope bruise, one heckler, over-exertion, sore muscles, long days and so much more!
So thank you for following along on my adventures! Every one of you who take the time to read, comment, theorize or just drop a like really means a ton to me! I appreciate you, yes, YOU, and can't wait to share so much more with y'all in the future!
Cheers!

Who says you can't find jewelry while magnet fishing?? 💍💎
Until last weekend it would've been me!😅 But these pieces of jewelry, most likely costume jewelry, certainly proved me wrong! The ring got a bit smashed, and the earring is losing its dangling gold pieces, but it all still sparkles!
It certainly was a shock to find something sparkly on my magnet too, I'm much more used to river muck brown and rusty red. Even wilder is that I've been doing this since 2021 without finding any jewelry, and then found both of these in a span of 10 minutes!
Just goes to show: even after thousands of throws, you still never know what you're going to get!! (And it's what keeps me going back to the river every weekend!)
My magnet is from 💙

A collection of circular finds from magnet fishing on Friday with some good friends! A few of these items will probably show up in the "What Is This" stories in the coming weeks.🤔 Though if you have guesses what these are now, I'd love to hear them!
1) Tire rim
2) Unknown
3) Speaker (with a magnet on the back!)
4) Wheel? Valve wheel?

Here's your sign to start magnet fishing! 😁😁
1) Western Union Telegraph Sign
2) Standard Oil Company, Safety Sign
3) Sign from a Delicatessen shopping cart
4) Proctor & Gamble: The White Naphtha Soap (before and after restoration)
5) Construction/caution sign
Signs are some of my absolute favorite finds, because you can usually find out a lot about their history (and you just gotta KNOW there's a story of how they got in the river).

Which one would you want to know more about?

A Facebook exclusive first for y'all here! I think I found part of someone's old magnet!
I'll post more about this in the future, but wanted to share with y'all first!

A few item highlights!
1) Car wheel part? (Someone walked by and told me what it was, but I know nothing about cars, so promptly forgot. Do you know what this is?) In any case, it was very heavy and a pain to get the magnet off of!😩
2) Complete door handle! This is a first for me and I was a bit confused when it came in. I do like how pretty the wood is though, I wonder if I can clean this up and reuse them?
3) An old wrench!🔧 Finding old tools is one of my favorite parts of magnet fishing, and I legit did a happy dance when this came up! This would be an excellent excuse to try to build an electrolysis tank this Summer, wouldn't you agree? 😁😁👍👍👍

🚲Second full bike of the year! And I really wish I could convey just how HORRIFIC this thing smells, especially with the rotting, river filled tires (second video really shows how gross it is) 🤮
First bike I've ever pulled that had dice for the tire inflation nozzle though, so that was pretty neat! 🎲

Found not one, but two of these enamel coated metal bowls in the past week! Both are probably from the late 1890s to 1930s. Finding actual antiques like these are always my favorite, because you know there has to be a story of how they ended up in the river.
I'll try to clean both of these up, and maybe see if the local museum where I found them want them for display.
Both were pulled using my Brute Magnetics magnets. Use coupon code TreasureHuntingSquid for 10% off your order on their site! (If you have questions about magnets/magnet fishing, please message me anytime!)
How do you think this ended up in the river? 🤔
