A shocking and sad loss… He was kind and he was brilliant. He was and always will be part of the cultural lexicon of our city and beyond. The photos of him and his son sharing the joy of seeing Bruce Springsteen together always moved me. My pop took us to our first concert. First and foremost he was a father who loved his son and the community. He will be missed and his legacy and what he contributed is timeless. Rest in Peace and rest in power Charles R. Cross. Thank you for positive difference you made while you were here. https://www.seattletimes.com/entertainment/music/charles-r-cross-influential-seattle-music-journalist-dead-at-67/?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR25J8TOkT6vHPBJFyiHdSYiJ39NR6XE0icSQKAo_bz86NWm7U2kPKo_7ak_aem_f_G3VZN3aht-9lGqUo86XA

Charles R. Cross, a journalist who covered the rise of grunge at The Rocket and who penned biographies for two of Seattle's rock icons, died over the weekend. He was 67.

My brothers and I lost our mother to cancer. She was only 31. I honor her and others every year at Fred Hutch Obliteride to raise money for cancer reaearch. It is how we heal it is how we can change things. I am riding 100-miles to personally raise $2000.00 toward a team goal of $75,000. Every dollar donated goes into cutting edge cancer research. https://secure.fredhutch.org/site/TR/Obliteride/Obliteride?px=1638099&pg=personal&fr_id=2070

AWESOME SHOW ALERT: Telekinesis is back!!! See the band this Friday at Lucky Dime along with the killer WIMPS and hometown heroes Oliver Elf Army!! Check it out:

I had the good fortune to catch Telekinesis’ Michael Lerner last month at a small art opening in a secluded barn up in Bow, a tiny hamlet off of Chuckanut Drive in Skagit County. It was a brief, subdued set; Lerner played guitar and supplemented a couple of songs with some beats piped in from […...

Sweden’s Imminence FINALLY booked their first US tour… Did you get to see them?

By Mocha Charlie Sweden’s, Imminence, is a band that has been contrasting brutal melodic heaviness with serene moments within their music for more than a decade; however, they’re a band most of you here in the states have probably never seen live. This is because prior to this tour, they had on....

We are back up and running!

Oh no! 😠
The SMI website is having some database issues and GoDaddy has assumed full responsibility. They are currently working to resolve what is wrong; but, unfortunately we don’t have a timeline yet as to when it will be back up. Our Wordpress is tied into the site, so any future published content is on hold until everything is back on line. Any featured articles that we have deadlines for will be scaled back and made here as limited posts until the site is fully operational again.
🤞🏻it won’t be too long!

It is always sad when a room for artists to share their craft with community. A lot of great memories at this place over a few years. Thank you Conor Byrne Pub 😢
