✨ Managing chronic symptoms is hard enough...your planner shouldn’t make it harder.

My 3-Month Physical & Mental Health Symptom Tracker is designed to help you finally see what your body’s been trying to tell you… without flipping through five different notebooks or relying on your memory (which, let’s be real, is on strike half the time 😅).

I’ve tried a lot of migraine glasses, but Avulux still tops my list and right now, they’re offering a Free Anti-Reflective Upgrade ($75 value) during their biggest (and only!) sale of 2025.

You can even stack my code ACHYSMILE for extra savings.

New Blog Post → https://achysmile.com/taking-a-break-from-advocacy-why-my-blog-went-quiet-after-january-2023/

I wrote a new post on my blog, the last being in 2023. During 2023 I spent more time advocating on social media than on my blog. Then, in 2024 I lost my brother. Life looks very different now, but I'm ok with that.

After stepping away from advocacy to focus on healing and balance, I’m slowly finding my way back. This post shares why I paused blogging since January 2023 and how I’m learning to move forward with purpose, rest, and self-care.

This has been a year of heartbreak, worry, and finding strength. Getting answers, learning to pace, and figuring out what's most important. Whew! I'm good, I don't need more of the same next year. Sending steady vibes into 2026!

🧠➡️🫀 Listen to your body (even when your brain says “we’re fine”)
📈 Stay on top of your symptoms
🗒️ Track if you need to: patterns beat guesses (I have just the tracking journal for that if you need it!)
❓ Ask lots of questions (and then a few more)
🤖 Ask your GPT to help you figure out what questions to ask
🧐 Question everything: policies, plans, “that’s normal,” all of it

And no, this isn’t about politics… but honestly, it still fits. 😅

🕶️ — fashionably late, but still showing up.

It’s been a weekend full of family, fun, and (unfortunately) migraine. The pain tried to steal the spotlight, but I kept my shades on and pushed through to soak up what joy I could. That’s the chronic life: finding moments of peace in the middle of the storm.

Headed home tomorrow, grateful for the memories and the quiet moments.

June is Migraine & Headache Awareness Month!

This year’s theme is Your Path to Better Days, and that path starts with visibility, support, and stigma-smashing conversations. 💪

🚫 MYTH: Talking about migraine won’t change anything.
✅ TRUTH: With 1 billion people affected globally, starting conversations can change perceptions and support those living with this debilitating disease.
🌟 Take action: On June 21, post a photo in sunglasses using and tag us to show your support and help make migraine visible.

Behind the Achy Smile

Hi guys! I am a freelance writer in Fayetteville, North Carolina. I help my husband, Stephen, raise our two crazy teens, Marissa and Noah, through a life with chronic pain and neurological symptoms. Our daughter, who also lives with migraine disease, is a Senior in high school learning how to thrive with me by her side. Through my blog, I am learning how to let go and find a new purpose through migraine advocacy. With a candid and open dialogue, Stephen and I are Speak Your Migraine Network advocates and together, we shine a light on a life with migraine. We discuss what our family life is like and how important advocacy is to the migraine community.

Achy Smile is a proud partner of the American Migraine Foundation.
