When six members of the Robison family were brutally murdered inside their summer cottage in Good Hart, Michigan, investigators were left with a crime scene unlike anything they had ever seen—and a case that would refuse to die.
In Part Two of our look at the Good Hart Murders, the investigation takes some unexpected turns. A mysterious necklace bearing a disturbing inscription raises questions about Richard Robison’s secret life. Investigators uncover financial schemes that point directly toward his trusted business associate, Joe Scolaro, and a trail of stolen money, suspicious fi****ms, conflicting alibis, and evidence that seems almost impossible to ignore.
But even as police build a case against Scolaro, another prosecutor eventually steps in—and just as an arrest appears imminent, everything falls apart.
Then, years later, an abandoned car turns up with a luggage tag belonging to a victim. And just when you think this case couldn’t get any stranger, a federal prison inmate contacts Michigan State Police claiming he knows who killed the Robison family.
Was Scolaro the killer? Was there someone else behind the murders? And what do we make of the dozens of clues, suspects, theories, and coincidences that have accumulated over more than five decades?
The Good Hart Murders remain officially unsolved.
