Maybe You Didn't Know That... a hidden character named "Sake" is referenced in the programming codes of the arcade version of Tekken 3. As clarified by the developers Sake was to be an animal character. The amazing thing is that it had to be a salmon… The idea was that whichever button the gamer pressed, Sake would just bounce harmlessly like a proverbial fish out of water complete with sound effects (imagine the typical sound of a flapping fish ;D). The developers decided to remove it from the final game to prevent gamers from getting angry after paying and using their token to use a good-for-nothing fish. Wise choice but if the developers had the courage to include it, Sake would surely have entered the history of video games as Magikarp's number one rival 😅😅😅

Maybe You Didn't Know That...
Final Fantasy VII was originally intended to be a detective-style game set in New York. Final Fantasy VII underwent several plot changes during development. The modern setting and dark tone were always present, but the main character was supposed to be a certain Detective Joe. With a gruff personality, somewhat like many small-screen inspectors, he was meant to investigate crime in a New York from 1999. Raise your hand if any of you would really like to see a game like that instead of the beloved FFVII! 😄

Perhaps you didn't know that... Solid Snake from the Metal Gear series was actually born from the fusion of three great (and badass) characters. Jean-Claude Van Damme inspired the physique; Snake Plissken portrayed by Kurt Russell not only gave Snake his eyepatch but also his name 😎. Finally, the face was inspired by Christopher Walken. This, according to the creators themselves, character designer Yoji Shinkawa and the visionary Hideo Kojima. Three great actors to create an immortal character! 😃

Maybe You Didn't Know That... the buttons on our old Playstation joystick actually have a very specific meaning. As mentioned by Teiyu Goto-san himself, he chose a symbol for each button that could be easily remembered. The triangle refers to the player's point of view, as if it were a small stylized head or a green colored arrow. The square instead refers to a sheet of paper, and represents menus and documents; colored pink. The circle and the X represent Yes and No in the decisions to be made, and were therefore colored red and blue respectively. While many think that the colors and symbols were taken at random, in reality we see how they are not at all :P Would you have ever figured out what was hidden behind these symbols? :D
