NHC: NATIONAL HOMEBREW CHAMPIONSHIP 2024

233 beers were brewed, judged & awarded!
The main judging event took place in Athlone’s Dead Centre Brewing who kindly offered their space from the early morning.

It’s great to see the homebrew community gathering together to share knowledge and feedback 🍺 Huge thanks to the organizers for their work, and congratulations to the winners!

PRETTY GOOD DDH PALE ALE?
Pretty great!
This little brew from Modest Beer has got a lot of attention since its release, and rightly so. We couldn’t resist trying it for ourselves. 🍺
Packed with Citra and last year’s phenomenon - mighty Nectaron. Hazy, generously hopped and modern pale ale.

GLOSSY INTERVIEW || WHIPLASH & ALLTA

Dark sour, aged for three years in French Oak Cognac barrels. Only a tiny batch was born, and there are not many places where you can find this beauty.

Leah (from Whiplash) was very kind to give us some behind-the-scenes info on this partnership, and you can read all about it in the latest Hop Glossy 🔥

This beer is mature, developing many different layers of flavours with each sip. The sourness of green apples and unripe cherries come to the main stage, fading into the background for the cherries to play solo in the front. It’s a symphony of sweet, sour and dry, tickling your senses with a mild spicy finish, developed from the ageing and entering your taste buds in a pleasant order. Despite its relatively low ABV of 5.7%, this beer deserves an occasion to sip and savour.

It certainly is!
After the exciting announcement earlier this year, Eight Degrees Brewery is back in the hands of the OG duo Scott & Cam. We can get ready for a lot of new and exciting releases!
It’s a fresh new chapter for the team, and we shall raise our glasses to celebrate 🍺👏
DèJà Vu is a German-style wheat beer, dancing between fruity and spicy, with an added layer of tropical sweetness from Mandarina Bavaria dry-hopping.
Congratulations and good luck on the new, Naturally Adventurous journey 💚
