UNBREAKABLE CHAIN -
shot in multiple formats from 1080p to 6k, degraded, upscaled, degraded again, destroyed, more noise, chopped and blended, 20 different versions rendered and rendered again - nightmares in purgatory presented via a hazy vision of VHS found footage Lynchian psychodrama.

My last collaboration with Melody Pool was beautiful, eerie and felt like a dream shot on IMAX- larger than life and vivid.

Here's the second chapter. Degraded and fuzzy; it's the haunted recollection of a VHS nightmare you can't wake up from.
Between death and rebirth, we cross the threshold. Will you make it to the other side, or stay in purgatory forever?

If "Will Not Let You Down" came with apologies to Peter Weir and Ari Aster, "Unbreakable Chain" comes with some necessary grovelling at the altar of Dario Argento, David Lynch and Luca Guadinigno.

Thanks as always to Melody Jane and her ever-reliable coven, as well as Josh Walkling for his on-set assistance and Jess Bowditch for her incredible photography inspiration.

Happy release day to my dear friend and collaborator Melody Pool.
We shot this over the course of somewhere between 8 and 10 hours in a single day- armed with an A3 art book, snake bite kit and guidance from the spirits that reside in the mystical Wollombi scrub.
I crashed my drone, solidified lifelong friendships and started to get comfortable with a term I've struggled with- "film maker".

This shoot changed me in ways that would be better to have a yarn about over a coffee if anyone's interested. All I know is that I have love in my heart and I'm filled with awe at the talent contained within this "coven".
In my humble opinion, this music video had no singular director. I was simply a vessel to help capture the magic being conjured by this group that exists both within and outside the confines of the gender binary. I'm so grateful to be included and trusted within this safe space celebrating all things romantic, Gothic, witchy, femme, q***r and all the other multitudes in which we exist.

Looking for assistance in promoting your brand, creation, or artistic endeavour in a cluttered online landscape? I’ve been a freelance creative for the past four years or so, making mostly narrative or performance-based videos, and other promotional material (photoshoots etc) for people in the Newcastle music scene.

Since my introduction to freelance work, I have worked closely with musicians like Lachlan X. Morris, Ben Leece, As of Sky and Brien McVernon; to create visual accompaniments for their releases. I look for inventive ways to work around low budgets and time constraints, and have a need for interesting collaboration with passionate people.
