A return visit for a Fathers Day treat.
We LOVE Sasso - definitely one of our favourite Italian restaurants in the area.
They've had a freshen up of their interior which is more in keeping with their newest location - fresh and lux. Glad to see the big olive tree remained though 🫶🏼🥹
Starters - we always share a tomato and garlic pizza bread and then I opted for the arancini - which was a truffle and cheese flavour. A lovely, lovely starter. The truffle was just the right amount and not overpowering at all. A generous portion but not heavy.
For mains I opted for the pea risotto with battered scallops - a bit like a fancy fish and chips vibe - loved this too - but I think a splash of fresh lemon and a little fresh basil could have elevated it - but overall delightful!
My husband got the lobster ravioli and that was the star of the show at this sitting - it was perfect! And son got the burrata, hot honey and njuda pizza - also so good!
For pudding I got the spiced pear and almond tart - seriously Christmas vibes but gorgeous!
Always love a visit to Sasso. Highly recommend if you fancy something simple but sophisticated- be prepared to spend a bit though as it's not cheap - but worth it in my opinion!
