Ballad of a Small Player – Review 🎲🔥

Edward Berger and Colin Farrell team up for Ballad of a Small Player, a sleek descent into gambling addiction and self-destruction. Farrell is gripping as Lord Doyle, with Tilda Swinton and Fala Chen adding sharp, memorable support.

The film explores obsession, wealth, and the loneliness that comes with chasing losses. Stunning visuals and a tense score pull you in, even if the ambiguous ending leaves you unsure where to land.

The Running Man (2025) – Review

Edgar Wright’s The Running Man isn’t just a remake, it’s a reinvention that leans into the darker, more faithful elements of Stephen King’s novel. Glen Powell brings real action-star charisma to Ben Richards, while Colman Domingo steals scenes as the unhinged game show host.

The film’s sharp commentary on capitalism and spectacle hits hard, all while maintaining a fast pace and vibrant world-building. Bloody, bold, and clever, it blends satire and action into a ride that easily surpasses the original.

Now You See Me Now You Don't Review 🎩🃏

The third film trades clever magic for loud spectacle, losing the charm and tension that made the original work. The Horsemen feel more like superheroes than magicians, with plot conveniences doing the heavy lifting.

While it delivers flashy visuals and big set pieces, the heist, stakes, and villain all feel undercooked, never justifying the sequel’s return after so many years.

Predator Badlands Review 👽🔥

Dan Trachtenberg once again proves he is the perfect hunter behind the camera. Badlands is a bold and badass reinvention of the Predator franchise, part sci fi spectacle and part buddy adventure. The film expands Yautja lore in thrilling new directions, with brutal tribal customs, slick action, and surprising heart.

Dek, a deadly yet layered Yautja warrior, and Thia, the chatty half synth who partners with him, make for one of the franchise’s most unlikely and entertaining duos. The visuals, prosthetics, and score are all next level, creating a world that feels alive and dangerous in every frame.

Task Review 🚔👮

Task is a gripping, emotionally charged crime drama from Brad Inglesby, the creator of Mare of Easttown. Tom Pelphrey and Mark Ruffalo lead a stellar ensemble in a story that goes beyond its procedural roots, delving deep into the lives and moral struggles of its characters. Thoughtful writing and exceptional performances make this one of the most layered and heartfelt series of the year.

Rental Family Review ⬇⬇

In Rental Family, Brendan Fraser brings warmth and emotional depth to the story of an actor who joins a Japanese “rental family” agency, standing in for strangers in need of connection. Director Hikari crafts a tender, bittersweet reflection on loneliness, empathy, and the human desire to belong.

A Private Life Review ⬇⬇

In her latest film, Foster plays a lonely psychologist in France investigating the death of a patient. A gripping setup that slowly unravels into a reflective character study. While the mystery drags in its later acts, Foster’s emotional depth keeps the story compelling until the end.
