As the Treasurer of the Central Coordination Committee (CCC) and Chairman of the Finance Committee of the 2026 National Convention of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), I worked assiduously with the exceptional members of the committee to ensure a hitch-free convention. Like the other sub-committees, we have diligently discharged our responsibilities, and I can confidently confirm that, in accordance with extant laws, the convention is proceeding seamlessly.

GOVERNOR UZODIMMA OVERSEES PEACEFUL SOUTHEAST APC ZONAL CONGRESS AS ARODIOGBU, AJIH EMERGES

The South East All Progressives Congress (APC) Zonal Congress held in Enugu on Wednesday ended peacefully, with party leaders and delegates commending the rancour-free process that produced new zonal executives.

The exercise, overseen by Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum, His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma, adopted a consensus approach in line with the APC constitution.

Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu was re-elected as APC National Vice Chairman (South East), while Chief Innocent Azuoba emerged as Zonal Secretary. Other elected officials include Barr. Ernest Mayor Ogbonna (Legal Secretary), Hon. Henry Onwuahaluonye (Publicity Secretary), Barr. Chima Kenneth Ogbonna (Youth Leader), Dr. Nwachukwu Stanley Chinedu (PWD Leader), Dr. Oby Ajih (Woman Leader), and Chief Arinze Ikedife (Organising Secretary).
Uzodimma, alongside Governors Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi) and Peter Mbah (Enugu), as well as other party leaders, guided the process, which drew a large turnout of stakeholders from across the zone.

Speaking at the event, Uzodimma commended party members for their unity and support for President Bola Tinubu, expressing confidence in the party’s strength ahead of the 2027 elections.

The event was attended by top party figures, including former Senate President Ken Nnamani, lawmakers, and other key stakeholders.

GOVERNOR UZODIMMA RECEIVES PACESETTER AWARD FROM ORGANISED LABOUR, HONOURS OUTSTANDING WORKERS

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has been honoured with the Pacesetter Award by organised labour in recognition of his administration’s commitment to workers’ welfare and the implementation of one of the highest minimum wages in the country.

The award, presented through a collaboration of labour unions, was delivered by the National President of the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) to the governor.

Speaking during the presentation, Governor Uzodimma described the recognition as a validation of his administration’s commitment to the welfare of workers in the state.

According to him, ensuring the prompt payment of salaries, promotions, and other entitlements remains a covenant his administration has consistently fulfilled.

The Governor expressed delight at being decorated with the Pacesetter Award by organised labour, noting that the recognition reflects the appreciation of workers for policies that prioritise their wellbeing.

As part of the event, the governor also rewarded excellence within the workforce by presenting cash prizes to the best Local Government Worker of the Year and the best State Worker of the Year.

Uzodimma reaffirmed that workers remain the engine room of government and pledged that his administration would continue to prioritise their motivation and welfare.

PROJECT UPDATE: THE OWERRI–ONITSHA ROAD NEARS COMPLETION

The reconstruction of the 33.1km Owerri–Onitsha Road is nearing completion, marking a major milestone in improving transportation and economic activities between Owerri and Onitsha.

Key works include the installation of stormwater drainage systems in the Irete axis, Njaba Bridge, and Awomama areas to address flooding, alongside ongoing road markings and streetlight installation. The project under the administration of Governor Hope Uzodimma is currently about 95% completed.

GOVERNOR UZODIMMA UPHOLDS CHARTER OF EQUITY AS ONYEDEBELU, IBEZIM EMERGE IMO APC CHAIRMAN, SECRETARY

Governor Hope Uzodimma has reaffirmed the guiding principle of the Imo Charter of Equity as the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State elected new state officers to lead the party’s affairs.

Hon. Austin Onyedebelu emerged as the new Imo State APC Chairman, while Hon. Onyekachi Ibezim was elected as the State Secretary during the party’s state congress.

The governor urged the newly elected officers to consolidate on the gains of the party, foster internal cohesion, and work diligently toward advancing the APC’s vision and programs in Imo State.

In his acceptance remarks, Onyedebelu expressed gratitude to party leaders and delegates for the confidence reposed in him, pledging to lead with transparency, unity, and dedication. Ibezim also assured members of his commitment to efficient administration and strengthened party structures across all levels.

The election marks a new phase in the Imo APC’s leadership, as the party positions itself for greater political engagement and continued governance impact in the state.
