Hi all, This is Katrina Springman Kenton, Bill’s wife. I am posting to let you know that Bill passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024 from complications after open heart surgery. My heart is broken. I miss him so much.
Please know he absolutely loved creating shows for you and was proud to promote and support Indie Artists around the world. You were all part of our BillandKatRadio Family!
Please keep our family in your prayers as we navigate our way through this.

Well, each time I face another open heart surgery, I think about what to do with my next ‘chance’. If I survive Monday’s surgery I think I want to learn how to play blues. I have a Strat, loaded with Jimmy Vaughn Texas pickups, and my Fender Deluxe tube amp. I also have a Buddy Guy wah, with the ‘bell’ switch. Not sure 1) what else might I need, 2) an easy course to learn from, and 3) basics I would need to know to even just to jam with someone. Yeah, I know that’s a lot, but I’m sure some of my friends can point me in some directions…
Some pointers on amp configuration would be helpful- how to set these switches for that blues tone..
I also have a Fender Tele, and an acoustic, but thinking the Strat would be best. Wish someone hadn’t stolen my Les Paul…

I understand that many people will be downloading the COVID19 app. However, if I am one of your "contacts" and you intend on installing the app, "Healthy Together"-- "Trace Together" -- or any similar tracing app, I am respectfully asking you to DELETE ME from your phone contact list, Facebook and Instagram pages PRIOR to installing the app on your Smartphone! The app WILL ask for permission to access your contact list, But NO ONE has my consent to use my name, phone number or any other identifying contact info in connection with these tracking apps which will identify me and locate me without my knowledge or permission. I resist this tracking.

Disappointed that Brad Paisley will be in Cincinnati on Sept. 7 but my 3rd open heart surgery is next week. Pretty sure I’m not going to be able to make that concert. LOL

Time for an update and some reminiscing. My ‘next’ open heart surgery is scheduled for Aug. 27- 3 weeks from today. My last open heart was 18 years ago. It was during my days as a professional wrestling referee. While in the hospital for the next 5 days, and the month following, I was visited from friends of all levels of the wrestling ranks. Some sent me apologies because they stopped between flights but got waylaid by fans in the hospital lobby. LOL
Over the last 11 years my public ‘personality’ put me behind the mic as an internally syndicated DJ across the Blues, Gospel Blues, and Country genres. You all know I love Miss Katrina but if anyone is passing through, another friendly face is always welcome. Unfortunately, within days of my valve replacement and triple bypass, artists I haven’t seen, or spoke to in years, will be in Cincy and I will be unable to attend. My apologies to Winger, Ace Frehley- whom I haven’t seen since the release of Frehley’s Comet, Scotty Bratcher, and Creed Fisher, who I hoped to finally meet.
I will try to keep folks updated during my recovery, especially when I have a return date to radio.
