Tara, Kain Tayo!
Devotional
March 24,2025

Lahat tayo nais nating maging healthy — and this is God’s will too.

At the end of the break, busog na busog si Erica!

In many cultures, eating together is practiced and enjoyed. Kapag ikaw ay naimbitang kumain, friendship can grow. Ayon sa eksperto, meal times with family, done at least four times a week, boosts child development.

Jesus longs to have a relationship with us. Katulad ng tatay ni Erica, through Jesus, our heavenly Father, wants to nourish us regularly and pass on to us lessons that we need to have a meaningful life. Sumisilip Siya, saan ka man naroroon, at nagyayaya, “Tara, kain tayo!”

LET’S PRAY
Lord, salamat. Even if You are the King of Kings, gusto po Ninyo akong makasalo at makakuwentuhan. Tapos madalas pinaghihintay ko pa Kayo. Patawad, Lord. Come into my life and nourish my soul, in Your loving name, I pray, Amen.

APPLICATION
Each week, schedule a family meal or a meal with a family member. Remember to also block off fifteen minutes a day to spend with the Lord, the Bread of Life, at least four times this week.

Basta Mahal Kita Devotionals
Feb.14,2025

Isaias 1:18

Earl just came out of the church after sincerely asking God for a wife when he saw the most beautiful woman for the first time. Her name was Beth. He was a bit surprised to find her getting out of a red-light district, but he continued pursuing her. Beth also wanted to be free from the life she was in, so when Earl offered him marriage, she saw this as a way out. Since ang alam lang niyang trabaho ay ang pagiging s*x worker, it was hard for her to turn back from her old ways. She would be gone for days, and her husband would look for her and take her back patiently. One day, she saw her husband beaten up by one of her customers, but he still loved and took her in.

Knowing her background and accepting her for who she is, masasabi nating nagawa niya ito dahil sa matinding grace at mercy ng Panginoon na nasa kanya.

Kadalasan, nasasaktan natin Siya when we sin.

LET’S PRAY
Panginoon, patawarin po Ninyo ako for hurting You. I receive Your forgiveness through Jesus Christ. Salamat po. Turuan po Ninyo ako not to fall into sin. Amen.

APPLICATION
Think about how you have hurt God in any way this week. Meditate on God’s forgiveness, appreciate it, and receive it. Then try sharing this with a trusted person for accountability.

No Ordinary Love
Devotionals

“Pag-ibig na Tunay.” Let’s explore how we can love one another by the grace of God according to His will.

Pero paano when it’s not easy to love?

A young Christian who worked for a major Philippine TV network remembered her unforgettable experience.

One day she just broke down. God spoke to her through today’s verses, like the Father telling her, “I want you to be Christ-like.” Napaka-comforting ng sinabi ng Diyos! She knew right then that God was shaping her character so she could live and love like Christ.

Included in the process of bearing God’s image is the ability to love like He does.

Holy Spirit, help me to be like Jesus every day.

APPLICATION
Think of three ways na gagawin mo para makapagpakita ng Christlikeness the next time it happens.

Spring-Cleaned Heart
Daily Devotional
Nov.8,2024

Nagulat din siya sa dami, and she realized when the time comes na lilipat na siya from earth to eternity, wala rin siyang madadala with her. Perhaps, oras na to simplify. Kung meron man siyang babaunin o itatago, ito yun: think eternal, go for what will last. Mag-impok ng kayamanan sa langit. Isa na rito ang pusong na-spring-clean.

LET’S PRAY
Forgive me for coveting and clinging to temporary pleasures. Cleanse my heart, Lord.

APPLICATION

The Only Way Is Up!
November 7,2024

Upon learning that he didn’t win the coveted award sa kanyang work, Inno felt discouraged. It’s as if bumalik lahat ng memories ng pagkatalo niya sa buhay — how he didn’t graduate with honors in college as a working student and how he didn’t pass the board examination.

Like Inno, it’s discouraging kapag hindi natin na-achieve ang goals and dreams natin sa buhay. Nakakalungkot kapag nasasayang ang efforts natin. Pero sabi nga ni Buster Moon sa isang animated film, “When you’ve reached rock bottom, there’s only one way to go, and that’s up!”

Yes, up! We can look up to Jesus Christ and find hope in the midst of shattered dreams and disappointments. Kung nadapa at natalo man tayo sa buhay dahil sa kasalanan, He will still be a light to us and fight for us (Micah 7:7–8). If we can’t stand on our own, He will lift us up kagaya ng sinabi sa Isaias 40:31, “Ngunit muling lumalakas at sumisigla ang nagtitiwala kay Yahweh. Lilipad silang tulad ng mga agila. Sila’y tatakbo ngunit hindi mapapagod, sila’y lalakad ngunit hindi manghihina.”

Trusting God — and believing that Jesus Christ died on the cross to defeat sin and death — makes you victorious already (1 Mga Taga-Corinto 15:57). Hindi mo man nakuha ang inaasam-asam na award or hindi na-reward ang efforts mo, it’s not the end for you dahil makakaasa ka sa hindi mauubos na provision ni Lord para sa iyo (Mga Taga-Filipos 4:19).

God will reward your faith as you trust in Him dahil sabi nga sa Mga Kawikaan 16:3, “Ipagkatiwala mo kay Yahweh ang iyong mga gagawin, at magtatagumpay ka sa lahat ng iyong mga layunin.

LET’S PRAY
Please help me believe and trust in You. Give me a reason to hope that things will eventually get better, too. Thank You, Jesus.

APPLICATION
Write down your personal, family, and career goals and dreams. Be as specific as possible. Commit your plans to the Lord and ask Him to give you a reason to hope everyday.

There’s More

There are plenty of things we can see: trees, stars, mountains, oceans, people, penguins, our best friend's smile, elephants, skyscrapers, coffee beans, sunsets, and tulips, to name a few.

God created all those things. He made the natural world, as well as the laws that govern it.

But there are also things we cannot see: behind the breath of the wind, beyond the depths of the universe, beneath the foundations of love. Through Christ, all things were created—in heaven and on earth, both visible and invisible (Colossians 1:16).

And while our mortal eyes might not be able to see the wind or infrared light or the Spirit of God, we still experience their effects. Because there’s more than what meets the eye. There’s more beyond this life.

Paul’s friends, the Corinthians, were experiencing great hardship. They were being hunted and persecuted because of what they believed about Jesus—that He was the long-awaited Messiah. Some were even facing death. But Paul encouraged them to endure such fleeting trials with a hope that’s beyond this world. He wrote:

“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭4‬:‭18‬ ‭NIV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

Human eyes can only see so much. Human minds can only grasp so much. But we can trust God with all that we cannot see or comprehend.

God is real. We might not be able to see Him today, with our physical eyes, but we can experience the effects of His life. Jesus sacrificed Himself so that you might live, and an abundant life awaits you—both on earth and in heaven. There is more beyond the here and now.

So, will you fix your eyes on what’s seen or unseen? Will you trust your five senses, or turn your heart to trust in Him?

Heavy Weight Removed

We’ve all done things that weigh us down and make us wonder, “Why do I do what I know is wrong?”

In Scripture, sin is used to describe actions that miss the target God has asked us to aim for: living a life centered around loving God and others. While there are universal actions that dishonor God, small acts of disobedience also pull us away from Him. The apostle James wrote that “it is a sin to know what the right thing to do is, and then not do it” (James 4:17).

In other words, if you know what God is asking you to do, yet you still decide to disobey Him—then you’re undermining God’s authority in your life. Sin entices us because it is self-gratifying, but it results in eternal separation from God and others.

For a long time, there was no way for most people to draw near to God because God cannot be a part of anything that undermines His perfect character.

But while we were controlled by sin, Jesus came and died for us. And because of Jesus’ death and resurrection, we can now experience a life that isn’t ruled by our mistakes.

Jesus’ voluntary sacrifice and separation from God can lead to our reconciliation with Him. None of this is because we deserve it, but because God has always desired it.

While we might continue to struggle between doing right and wrong, we don’t have to face this struggle alone. And the great news is: God wants to help because He knows that we can’t overcome sin on our own.

So right now, take note of some of the things you are currently struggling with. Where do you need to give God control? Picture handing those things over to Jesus and allow Him to show you His love for you. He paid the price for your forgiveness. You only need to receive it.

A Way for Us to Rest

It feels intimidating to start something new without knowing how it will work out, whether a new relationship, job, project or even traveling to a new place. We never know what challenges we might face along the way.

After God met the people of Israel at Mount Sinai, He gave them a new identity (people belonging to Him), new values (the Ten Commandments), and a new destination (the Promised Land). They had no idea where to go or how long it would take. As God led them further into the wilderness, He also gave these desert-weary people a promise to be with them and give them rest.

They had a lot of questions—about everything! Would they be able to find food and water? Would they meet enemies on their journey? How would they live their lives?

Anytime we find ourselves in a new season, place, or situation, we cannot anticipate what we will need, and we get to benefit from the same promise God made to Israel then: His presence is enough, and we can trust Him.

No matter what happens or where we go, He will be with us, and He makes a way for us to rest.

You can trust that God will lead you into a future where rest is possible. Just as He provided Israel with manna to eat when they needed food, He provides for you, too. He is with you, and He is for you.
