Our latest podcast ‘Dirt Pudding with “Sandkings”’ is out.

We read the chilling story of a morally corrupt man and his exotic pet sandkings and how they affect his life. We also watched the delightfully 90s outer limits episode of the same title. This was a great short story showcasing George R.R. Martin’s horror sci fi skills. You can’t go wrong with dirt pudding, although I didn’t eat the gummy worms because gummy candy is gross.

Pease porridge with “A knight of the seven kingdoms”is out today!

Turns out we would be fine in medieval Europe because we both really liked this simple dish. It’s also full of fiber and protein! I ended making this again because I didn’t like any of my pictures I took during recording. The first time we used yellow split peas. I couldn’t find them at my grocery store so I used green split peas for my re-do. Honestly, it’s hard to take good pictures of food when you are hungry and just want to eat it.

This enjoyable game of thrones spinoff follows the charmingly honorable hedge knight Dunk the Tall and his precocious squire, Egg. It’s an enjoyable light hearted look at Westeros, but still has the ruthless touch of George R.R. Martin.

We are looking forward to the HBO series based on this book.

New podcast: Piping hot gazpacho soup with Red Dwarf.

We used more summer produce for our latest podcast “Piping hot gazpacho soup with Red Dwarf”.

Red Dwarf is fun novelization of the cult classic tv show where a group of oddballs navigate the far future in space. I especially appreciated the evolution of cat.

Gazpacho soup is traditionally served cold, a fact that is not taught in officer school. We had ours cold but made it “piping hot” with jalapeños and this dish was a big hit, although I recommend serving it with some crusty bread (gluten free if necessary).

New podcast: Elderflower and Blackberry shortcake with “Murderbot”

Summer’s bounty is featured today in this delicious blackberry desert featuring berries harvested from Jason’s own backyard. Murderbot was a fun, fast paced sci fi dramedy that we both enjoyed. We are hoping for a season 2!

In this month’s podcast we make sweet potato empanadas while discussing “The Fall of Hyperion”, the second book in the Hyperion Cantos. We see what the pilgrims are up to on Hyperion and things are getting weird.

The empanada dough was a little hard to work with but they still ended up being tasty.

Gluten Free Boxed Cake Mix with Black Mirror Season 7

This season should be called extra dark black mirror because this was bleak. Once again black mirror explore the dark side of technology and we enjoyed it. USS Calisster Into Infinity was a good sequel to the first popular episode. Now excuse me while I discontent in the wilderness for the next month.

Recipe: we made a king Arthur’s gluten free chocolate cake mix. It was great!

What do you do when you’re on a cruise to the Bahamas and are planning to record your podcast, but you’re tired from fun and sun and didn’t finish the book at the pool? You ask AI to give you food suggestions that start with H and have 3 syllables and handle it when you get home.

Jason and I met up post-friends birthday cruise and mastered Halloumi, Honeydew, and Habanero dishes three ways! The honeydew sauce was perfection. We both enjoyed the Canterbury tales-esque sci fi classic “Hyperion”. Now to travel backward in time in a time tomb so we can enjoy this dish again!

Our latest podcast is “Gluten free gnocchi with Wool”. We both enjoyed this post apocalyptic book and both plan on continuing the series.

We decided to make the gnocchi from scratch with the gluten free flour. This wasn’t too difficult but a little tedious. It’s asparagus season so eat it will it’s fresh!
