Calling all Songwriters, Singers, DJs, Music Producers and Artist Managers based in Zimbabwe! Are you ready to take your music career to the next level?

Apply for the Music Connects Africa programme (formerly Scripts and Bars), a music accelerator programme designed to support your music career and business growth. Selected participants will benefit from music business masterclasses, financial support, market access, mentorship and showcase opportunities.

Who should apply?
→ Applicants aged 18+ based in Zimbabwe
→ Independent Artists NOT signed to a record label
→ Talent Managers with at least 1 music artist under their management
→ Must have 2 years experience with a proven track record of professionally released music online or performing live
→ Young people, women and those from underrepresented communities are strongly encouraged to apply)

Banshee shares her experience participation at ACCES 2024 through the Scripts and Bars Showcase , where she gained recognition as an emerging African female rapper from Zimbabwe.

The Scripts and Bars Alumni Showcase Project supports business growth, networking, and showcasing/market opportunities to showcase the impact of the programme and provides access to networks, wider audiences and new markets to beneficiaries.

This experience elevated their profiles, facilitated meaningful new connections, and provided access to new audiences. It also demonstrated their ability to perform on a big stage in front of a diverse, large audience.

Supported by the British Council, the Scripts and Bars accelerator programme is delivered by Kay Media Africa based in Zimbabwe, collaborating with Reprezent based in the UK.

Here are some highlights from the Scripts and Bars Showcase at the Stanbic Jacaranda Music Festival 2024, the road from rehearsals to the festival showcase where Kim Makumbe Music , Farai Danda, Meet Luminous , Novuyo Seagirl , and Ncube delivered a memorable performance.

The Scripts and Bars Alumni Showcase Project supports business growth, networking, and showcasing/market opportunities to showcase the impact of the programme and provides access to networks, wider audiences and new markets to beneficiaries.

We are excited to announce that through Scripts and Bars music accelerator programme, Banshee will be performing at the ACCES Showcase Festival in Kigali, Rwanda, taking place from November 14th to 16th.

an award-winning rapper, spoken word artist, and human rights advocate will be a featured participant. Her powerful artistry is a catalyst for social change, addressing pressing issues such as children's rights, mental health, climate action, sexual reproductive health, and youth empowerment.

Banshee has represented Zimbabwe at international events, including in France, South Africa, Malawi, and Mozambique, and has garnered numerous accolades. Her accomplishments include the English Spoken Word Artist of the Year award at the Poetry Red Carpet (2022), the House of Hunger Poetry Slam Championship title, and the prestigious role of UNICEF Youth Climate Change Ambassador. She has also been nominated three times at the Zim Hop Awards.

We are excited to announce that through Scripts and Bars music accelerator programme, Indigo Saint will be performing at the ACCES Showcase Festival in Kigali, Rwanda, taking place from November 14th to 16th.

Indigo Saint is the stage name of Mzwakhiwe Ngwenya, a 31-year-old artist and 5-time Zim Hip Hop Award winner. In 2016, he earned the second spot on MTV Base’s Top 10 Hottest MC list.

Indigo Saint has performed at various notable events, including Cottage Fest, Intwasa Arts Festival, Munch and Sip, and the Matobo Gin Festival. His freestyle even caught the attention of Sway Calloway from Sway in the Morning.

We are excited to announce that Scripts & Bars alumni Lalla Martin has been selected to perform live at the first edition of Savanna Nights on the 2nd of November 2024 at Alliance Francaise de Harare alongside Mwenje Mathole, Masa Caroleen & Tapiwa.

Savanna Nights is a new initiative set up by Terminal One Africa to provide a platform for emerging local artists to collaborate through live performances so as to connect with and grow their audiences.

Early bird tickets are available for $15 before October 31st.
