Calling all Songwriters, Singers, DJs, Music Producers and Artist Managers based in Zimbabwe! Are you ready to take your music career to the next level?

Apply for the Music Connects Africa programme (formerly Scripts and Bars), a music accelerator programme designed to support your music career and business growth. Selected participants will benefit from music business masterclasses, financial support, market access, mentorship and showcase opportunities.

Who should apply?
→ Applicants aged 18+ based in Zimbabwe
→ Independent Artists NOT signed to a record label
→ Talent Managers with at least 1 music artist under their management
→ Must have 2 years experience with a proven track record of professionally released music online or performing live
→ Young people, women and those from underrepresented communities are strongly encouraged to apply)

Banshee shares her experience participation at ACCES 2024 through the Scripts and Bars Showcase , where she gained recognition as an emerging African female rapper from Zimbabwe.

The Scripts and Bars Alumni Showcase Project supports business growth, networking, and showcasing/market opportunities to showcase the impact of the programme and provides access to networks, wider audiences and new markets to beneficiaries.

This experience elevated their profiles, facilitated meaningful new connections, and provided access to new audiences. It also demonstrated their ability to perform on a big stage in front of a diverse, large audience.

Here are some highlights from the Scripts and Bars Showcase at the Stanbic Jacaranda Music Festival 2024, the road from rehearsals to the festival showcase where Kim Makumbe Music , Farai Danda, Meet Luminous , Novuyo Seagirl , and Ncube delivered a memorable performance.

We are excited to announce that through Scripts and Bars music accelerator programme, Banshee will be performing at the ACCES Showcase Festival in Kigali, Rwanda, taking place from November 14th to 16th.

an award-winning rapper, spoken word artist, and human rights advocate will be a featured participant. Her powerful artistry is a catalyst for social change, addressing pressing issues such as children's rights, mental health, climate action, sexual reproductive health, and youth empowerment.

Banshee has represented Zimbabwe at international events, including in France, South Africa, Malawi, and Mozambique, and has garnered numerous accolades. Her accomplishments include the English Spoken Word Artist of the Year award at the Poetry Red Carpet (2022), the House of Hunger Poetry Slam Championship title, and the prestigious role of UNICEF Youth Climate Change Ambassador. She has also been nominated three times at the Zim Hop Awards.

We are excited to announce that through Scripts and Bars music accelerator programme, Indigo Saint will be performing at the ACCES Showcase Festival in Kigali, Rwanda, taking place from November 14th to 16th.

Indigo Saint is the stage name of Mzwakhiwe Ngwenya, a 31-year-old artist and 5-time Zim Hip Hop Award winner. In 2016, he earned the second spot on MTV Base’s Top 10 Hottest MC list.

Indigo Saint has performed at various notable events, including Cottage Fest, Intwasa Arts Festival, Munch and Sip, and the Matobo Gin Festival. His freestyle even caught the attention of Sway Calloway from Sway in the Morning.

Savanna Nights is a new initiative set up by Terminal One Africa to provide a platform for emerging local artists to collaborate through live performances so as to connect with and grow their audiences.

We are excited to announce that Bush Baby X will be performing during the Scripts and Bars Showcase at the Stanbic Bank Jacaranda Music Festival on October 5, 2024, in Harare.

Bush Baby X is a Zvishavane born Hip Hop artist and poet. His personal influences range from Pan-African and American civil rights leaders, literature icons such as Dostoevsky, Carl Gustav Jung and Dambudzo Marechera, to even fictional figures including Bruce Wayne from the Batman franchise. Musically he draws inspiration from Thomas Mapfumo, Chiwoniso Maraire, Alick Macheso, Fela Kuti, Salif Keita, KRS-ONE, Maskiri, to mention but a few. His subject matter is predominantly rooted in the state of the human condition and the plight to improve itself mentally, physically and spiritually.

Cinginkosi Ncube is a Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe-born singer-songwriter who blends Traditional, Afropop, Afro-fusion, Jazz, and Soul elements, creating a unique sound. When she writes, she draws from personal experiences and stories and other people's experiences. She has performed at notable events, including SoFar Sounds Harare (three times), Shoko Festival, LitFest, and the Red-Carpet Poetry Awards. With a mission to spread a gospel and share stories, Cingi believes in music's power to transform lives and educate the masses. She strives to make a global impact through her art, inspiring and uplifting souls worldwide.

Novuyo Seagirl Dube is a talented singer, songwriter, dancer and actress from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. She started her own band with her sisters Lwandle, Nomvula and Qeqeshiwe. Together they have performed in various places around the country and participated in corporate events. Novuyo is the Starbrite 2015 Overall Winner and the Dreamstar 2018 Finalist.

We are excited to announce that Tahle We Dzinza will be performing during the Scripts and Bars Showcase at the Stanbic Bank Jacaranda Music Festival on October 5, 2024, in Harare.

Tahle we Dzinza is a dynamic Afrocentric songbird who is a smooth blend of classical elements, pop, jazz, African traditional and Arabic fusions. She is inspired by the stories of people around her and uses her pen and voice to articulate the journey of African people far and wide. She has performed on big stages such as HIFA, Jacaranda Fest, and Nyege Nyege Festival in Uganda. She is classically trained and has attained over 15 distinctions in music through the National Institute of Allied Arts Zimbabwe.

Her vision is to become a steady and impactful voice for a generation bombarded by a multitude of confusing and conflicting voices. Kim has collaborated with renowned Zimbabwean Afropop stars, including ExQ and Nyasha David and has performed at festivals such as Stanbic Jacaranda Music Festival, Amplifaya Festival and Unplugged Zimbabwe.
