In 1974, 17-year-old Carla Walker was abducted, assaulted, and murdered after a high school Valentine’s Day dance in Texas. For decades, the case went cold—despite multiple suspects and dead ends. In 2020, advanced DNA technology identified Glenn McCurley, a seemingly ordinary man in his 70s, as the killer. After initially denying involvement, McCurley eventually confessed in a chilling police interview. He pleaded guilty in 2021 and was sentenced to life in prison—46 years after the crime.

A woman was found fatally shot in her home on a Friday afternoon, prompting a police investigation. Authorities responded to reports of gunfire and discovered the victim deceased inside the residence. Her estranged partner, who was no longer living with her at the time, was taken into custody shortly after during a traffic stop. He later complained of chest pains and was hospitalized briefly before being arrested. Court records showed that the couple had previously filed for divorce, but the case had been voluntarily dismissed. The accused was ultimately sentenced to 30 years in prison for first-degree murder.
