An early sight of the renowned (and somewhat daunting) "Rainbow Bridge" in Port Arthur. Erected between 1936 and 1938 to accommodate a U.S. Navy vessel passing beneath it, this bridge stands tall above all others in Texas, boasting a 680 ft span and 177 ft of vertical clearance. Once hailed as the tallest bridge in the United States, it's definitely not for the faint-hearted!"
