A leader is someone responsible not just for oneself but also for the betterment of their community.

On July 9, 2025, with the help of select Presidents and Vice Presidents, the SCO conducted the Election of Grade Level Representatives at the AVR during the club period. These representatives are to aid in helping the SCO build a disciplined student body whose hearts are bound in not just prayers but also values. Let us give the following student leaders a round of applause:

Grade 7: Cancio, Nyah Isabelle D. from 7 - Ruth
Grade 8: Dancel, Apphia Rean G. from 8 - St. Agnes
Grade 9: Fernando, Winona Aubrey M. from 9 - Guadalupe
Grade 10: Dizon, Karissa Gilla B. from 10 - St. Hildegarde
Grade 11: Arceo, Renee Felice C. from 11 - Piety
Grade 12: Patiu, Sophia Clare C. from 12 - Service

With their burning passion, may their voices lead the way, and their actions speak louder, inspiring every student to rise and make a difference.

To help us embark on the journey of our 101st year, morning assemblies are now back in action! These assemblies are to be led by the SCO in order to inform the student body of announcements and concerns.

For our first assembly, we started with the Lectio Divina, which was followed by various launches of student events. Which are as follows:

The Hallmark of the Month, where a designated hallmark for each month is portrayed by each Scholastican, and for this month, we have Discipline.

Followed by the Relaunching of the STARS Program, which is aimed at providing students with disciplinary skills that are to guide them to reach for the stars! The SCO has now included more incentives and improvements to the yearly program.

Up next is MaSSAyang Kaarawan, a monthly outreach program to help those in need whenever it is your birthday month. The theme depends on each month, but for July, goods will be given to an operation for malnourished children to commemorate Nutrition Month.

Lastly, the Financial Summary Report of the SCO was shown to the community as a work of transparency after their elaborate efforts for the development of the school.

This is just the beginning of a fulfilling year, Scholasticans! May these endeavors continue to inspire unity, discipline, and service among us all.

On the serene morning of June 30, 2025, the community gathered in sacred unity for the first Holy Mass being the Votive Mass to the Holy Spirit, marking a meaningful beginning to the new school year. The Eucharistic celebration, presided over by Rev. Fr. Larry Miranda, focused on invoking the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, the divine breath that sustains and renews all life.

As Jesus breathed the Holy Spirit onto His disciples, He empowered them with the Seven Gifts: wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord. These gifts continue to guide us today, helping us face challenges, make wise decisions, and grow in faith and compassion.

As the new school year begins, may we carry the Holy Spirit within us—our breath, our strength, our guide—reminding us that we are never alone on the journey.

From June 23 to 27, 2025, a wide array of clubs—from sports to communication/literary arts—cleared their entrances to welcome new members.

The Blue Quill was no exception, hosting a screening that drew in aspiring journalists from distinct committees—writers, photojournalists, editorial cartoonists, and layout artists—each striving to secure a spot in the club.

Some students even auditioned for up to three clubs, demonstrating how Scholasticans not only excel in academics but also bring their A-game in extracurricular activities.

From big boards brimming with eye-catching decorations to the tables filled with yummy prizes and charming tokens—the students surely hopped with excitement during the club hopping 2025.

On the sunny afternoon of June 20th, this event lasted for almost two hours, where 27 striking clubs flaunted their incredible gimmicks, passionately promoted their clubs, and captivated us with their booth. Moderators from each club were also present to demonstrate their wholehearted support for their club and its representatives.

With this event, were Scholasticans able to choose their clubs? Or are they still in a dilemma about which club to commit to?

In line with the Distinguished Alumni awards, an exclusive interview was conducted with Ms. Leah Quesada—a respected alumna recognized with the Scholastican Excellence Award in Social Involvement at the Gawad HuSSAy at SSAysay event held on June 14, 2025. Twenty senior high school invitees were given the chance to be a part of the exchange.

Throughout the interview, Ms. Quesada shared her journey towards excellence and building her character. Along with that, she highlighted several key values that can help in achieving success. These values include the understanding and acceptance of the things within our control, which are helpful in facing challenges. Another is the awareness of our own practices wherein she remarked that what we practice is who we are. Furthermore, she explained the importance of making interactions with the people around us to foster connections. Lastly, she mentioned that we are all channels or vehicles of something big—God's excellence.

This meaningful engagement allowed the students to gain insights that can be used once facing the world outside of high school. More than that, they were inspired by someone who has successfully navigated life.

Ready, set, go!

As it kicks off its 101st year, St. Scholastica's Academy greets its students with beaming energy. Starting from the welcome walk for the 7th graders to the balloon game, the introduction of school personnel and administrators, the intermission numbers by the Dance Ministry and Glee Club, and finally, the sing-along for grade seven students and new-comers, it sure illuminated its lively community spirit in commencing a new school year.

Along with that, the academic year established its new theme; “Rekindle the Gift of Benedictine Education: Strengthened by Prayer, We Journey as Pilgrims of Hope” So, together, as benedictine students, let us learn to always center God in everything we do to conquer the year gracefully.

On this day, we take a moment to solemnly reflect on one of the most devastating natural disasters that left a lasting mark on the Philippines–the eruption of Mount Pinatubo.

Once vibrant communities were silenced by dull and gray debris as towns were shrouded with volcanic ash. Countless homes were lost along with the ancestral lands of the Aeta which were tainted beyond recognition. After 500 years of dormancy, the mountain forever changed the lives of thousands in the blink of an eye. To this day, the calamity remains one of the most catastrophic volcanic eruptions in the Philippines.

As we commemorate this event, we honor all the families who lost everything, the responders who put their fellow people before themselves, and all those who worked hand in hand to rebuild communities. This day is not marked on the calendar to remember the severity of the disaster, but the immense compassion and unity that emerged from each individual. Despite having to deal with endless uncertainty and sorrowful loss, Filipinos embodied the true means of unwavering resilience.

May this day serve as a reminder of the pure Filipino spirit that allowed the Philippines to rise from what seemed like a hopeless tragedy. As we pay our respects to the memories of those affected by the eruption of Mount Pinatubo, allow the courage they possessed to inspire us to meet future challenges with the same resolve, ensuring that Filipinos may continue to rise again from unforeseen calamities.

On the 14th of June 2025, St. Scholastica’s Academy Pampanga (SSA) culminated its centennial celebration. The school, together with the SSA Alumni Association, proudly held the Gawad HuSSAy at SSAysay Conferment to honor alumni who have made significant contributions in their respective fields.

The alumni were granted awards in the following categories:
🏅Scholastican Excellence Award in Public Service
🏅Scholastican Excellence Award in Leadership and Governance
🏅Scholastican Excellence Award in Religious Vocation
🏅Scholastican Excellence Award in Professional Practice
🏅Scholastican Excellence Award in Education
🏅Scholastican Excellence Award in Social Involvement
🏅Scholastican Excellence Award in Culture and the Arts
🏅Honorary Scholastican

Through this celebration, we applaud alumni whose inspiring journey reflects the enduring legacy of SSA and the profound love they bear—a love that echoes the spirit of Ora et Labora.

As Cardinal Pablo Virgilio S. David, D.D., an Honorary Scholastican who presided over the Mass, stated, "We are all continuously a work in progress." This sentiment reminds us that learning is a lifelong journey that continues through all our living days. Just like how these alumni were able to make meaningful contributions through their steadfast service, not only nationally, but even global scales, this event highlight how they have consistently embody the empowering effect of a Benedictine education—serving as a testament that learning is indeed in constant embrace.
