WHAT HAVE A SIGNED MYSELF UP FOR 😂
In just 7 weeks, I’ll be taking on this year with which looks to be one of the hardest versions of the event in its history. 5400m of climbing with 4 alpine climbs, finishing on the famous Alpe D’huez! I’m not one to turn down a challenge, so of course I couldn’t say no!
As part of the training, today I used the Zwift Climb Portal to virtually prepare for what I’m going to be experiencing in July. Climbing a mountain in my living room was an experience, put it that way. A brutal climb up the Col de la Croix de Fer in 1h29m 🥵 beat that!
The four climbs in this year’s L’etape can now be found on the platform between 1st June and 5th July, if you want a taste of what’s in store. Given I live in the pancake flat Essex, I’ll be making the most of the elevation virtually as well as combining getting out on my bike IRL to best prepare for the challenge. Plenty of training still to be done!
