Dear Central-Carver Alums,
As proud alumni of Carver High School, we share a deep sense of commitment to our alma mater and the community it represents. It is with great enthusiasm that we reach out to you today to share our vision for the future and invite your support in making it a reality.
The Central Carver Alumni Association is embarking on an ambitious journey to enhance the lives of our community members and revitalize our beloved Central Carver Community. We have identified several key initiatives that align with our mission to maintain the honor and legacy of Carver High School while uplifting our community. These initiatives include:
1. Charter School Establishment: We aim to establish a charter school that will provide innovative education opportunities for our children. This endeavor involves applying for charter status, securing a suitable building, and recruiting talented educators and students.
2. Literacy and GED Programs: We recognize the importance of literacy and education in empowering individuals. Our literacy and GED programs will provide essential skills and support for those seeking to further their education and improve their lives.
3. Community Gardens: To promote healthy living and sustainability, we plan to create community gardens where residents can grow fresh produce and cultivate a sense of community.
4. Employability and Life Skills Programs: Equipping our youth and adults with the skills needed for success in the workforce is crucial. Our employability and life skills programs will provide training and resources to enhance career prospects and overall well-being.
5. Political Action Team: We believe in the power of collective action to effect positive change. Our political action team will advocate for the interests of our community and ensure that our voices are heard in the political arena.
6. AA/NA Program Coordinator: Substance abuse is a significant challenge facing many communities. Our AA/NA program coordinator will facilitate support groups and resources for individuals struggling with addiction.
7. Voter Registration and Participation: We seek to increase civic engagement and voter participation within our community. Our voter registration and participation coordinators will work to ensure that every voice is heard in the democratic process.
8. Physical Fitness Coordinators: Preparing our youth and young adults for careers in public service, such as police, fire, and forest ranger, requires physical fitness and wellness. Our physical fitness coordinators will provide training and guidance to support these aspirations.
9. Establishment of a Credit Union: We envision a credit union-owned and operated by alums and their family members, providing financial services and support to our community.
10. Community-Centric Services: Our ultimate goal is to establish these programs and services, and more, within the Central Carver Community itself. By bringing resources and opportunities directly to our doorstep, we aim to uplift and empower our community from within.
We believe that with your support, we can turn our vision into reality and make a meaningful impact on the Central Carver Community. Your contributions, whether through volunteering your time, sharing your expertise, or making a financial donation, will be instrumental in advancing these initiatives.
Together, we can honor the legacy of Carver High School and create a brighter future for generations to come. Join us as we embark on this journey of transformation and empowerment.
With gratitude and solidarity
