Becoming Love was the title of Rahul Mishra’s show held inside a vaulted cathedral space in Paris for the autumn/winter 2025-2026 haute couture season.

The collection explored Sufism and the notion of the seven stages of love, echoing attraction, infatuation, surrender, reverence, devotion, obsession and even death.

In Mishra’s hand, these became ephemeral constructions, such as the opening look that surrounded the model in golden curves.

Lebanese couture house Georges Hobeika presented a show called The New Order on the opening day of the autumn/winter 2025-2026 haute couture season in Paris.

Designs ranged from flapper dresses, sheer bodice gowns and sharply pleated skirts to graceful off-the-shoulder looks scattered with fabric petals, catering to women who desire a wardrobe of beautiful cocktail dresses and gowns.

The closing bridal look was a silver beaded confection, which served as an apt finale to a show that outlined why Hobeika, and his son Jad, have been a constant presence at Paris Haute Couture Week since January 2017.

Ferrari has unveiled the Amalfi, its latest grand tourer, set to arrive in the UAE in the first half of 2026 with an expected price of around Dh1 million.

Named after the scenic stretch of coastline in southern Italy, the Amalfi builds on the Roma with meaningful upgrades in performance, design and comfort. While it retains the 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, Ferrari has introduced lighter components and revised the turbo system to boost output to 640hp. It accelerates from zero to 100kph in 3.3 seconds.

The cabin also gets a major upgrade, replacing touch controls with physical buttons and adding screens for both driver and passenger.

Ferrari says the Amalfi is designed for those who want grand touring comfort with a sharper edge. It aims to strike a balance between luxury and performance, offering both long-distance ease and spirited driving without being intimidating.

Men’s Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2026 in Paris and Milan saw designers move beyond seasonal trends to explore identity, heritage and storytelling through fashion.

Jonathan Anderson made his debut for Dior with a collection that merged the house’s romantic legacy with modern, character-driven design. Pharrell Williams presented his latest menswear collection for Louis Vuitton, drawing inspiration from Indian landscapes, textiles and mountaineering culture.

At Prada, Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons offered a softer, more relaxed vision of masculinity, with loose tailoring and layered textures replacing traditional power dressing.

Marking ten years since its founding, the UAE’s Qasimi returned to Milan with a deeply personal show. Led by Sheikha Hoor Al Qasimi, the collection honoured the memory of her late twin brother, Sheikh Khalid Al Qasimi, blending Arab cultural references with contemporary silhouettes. A collaboration with Lebanese artist Dala Nasser added further meaning, using fabric as a canvas for memory and lived experience.

This summer, make monochrome a statement of intent. Think sculptural silhouettes and audacious cuts, where fluid drapery meets razor-sharp tailoring. Burnished metallics and tactile knits add dimension, because in a palette this pure, it’s the surface finish that speaks the loudest.

The June issue of The National’s Luxury magazine is here. Inspired by the French, who have long mastered the art of the holiday through their tradition of “Les grandes vacances”, this edition explores what it means to step back, reset and embrace the slower rhythm of summer.

Take our feature on the quiet revival of portraiture, where a classic art form finds new relevance in the age of smartphones. In Bahrain, we meet a sixth-generation pearl merchant keeping one of the Gulf’s oldest crafts alive.

From Hermès, we look at a new lipstick that reflects the brand’s signature precision and design.

This month’s cover shoot captures the relaxed elegance of summer. The setting and styling reflect the simplicity and calm that define the season’s best moments.

Elsewhere, we speak to Chazz Palminteri about storytelling, legacy and the role that changed his career. We follow Stanley Tucci on a journey through Italy, where food, family and memory come together. In London, we visit an exhibition dedicated to Syrian artist Marwan, whose portraits explore solitude and identity.

We take a closer look at Ferrari’s latest V12, a model built for performance and long-distance travel. We also explore a curated selection of vintage watches, chosen for the season ahead.

Our June issue is a reminder to pause, take stock and enjoy the moment. Find it in today’s edition of The National.

Indian celebrities have lent their star power to the Cannes Film Festival red carpet over the years, and this year a number of Bollywood’s new generation actors are making their debut.

On Tuesday, actors Ishaan Khatter, Janhvi Kapoor and Vishal Jethwa attended the premiere of French thriller Vie Privee (A Private Life). They are the stars of acclaimed filmmaker Neeraj Ghaywan’s film Homebound, which premieres on Wednesday, and is one of only two Indian films competing this year.

For her first Cannes outing, Kapoor wore a custom pink ensemble by Indian designer Tarun Tahiliani.

Featuring a handwoven “tissue skirt and corset”, the hand-crushed fabric, crafted in the textile city of Benares, was meant to be an ode to Indian craftsmanship.

Arab designers are not the only ones ramping up the glamour at the Cannes Film Festival. A host of Arab stars have already lit up this year’s event, including Egyptian actress and singer Yousra and Palestinian-Dutch supermodel Bella Hadid.

Various stars brought a distinct take on red carpet style, from a dramatic all-white Tamara Ralph gown to a sharply tailored Berluti three-piece suit.

Finished with dazzling diamonds – most notably from Cartier – regional stars are once again setting the global standard for evening glamour.

Find out who wore what on the red carpet so far through the link in our bio.

The Cannes Film Festival is famed for its glitz, glamour and camera-worthy red-carpet moments. This year is no different.

Given the Middle East’s love of polished dressing, it comes as little surprise that many international celebrities turn to regional – specifically Lebanese – designers for out-of-this-world looks.

So far, we’ve spotted looks by Elie Saab, Georges Chakra, Rami Kadi and Zuhair Murad on the red carpet. With the event running until May 24, more regional designers are expected to follow.

Met Gala 2025 might have been a celebration of black dandyism but it also proved the perfect place to showcase high-end jewellery.

Bulgari ambassador Priyanka Chopra Jonas made waves on the red carpet with her giant 241.06 carat rare emerald necklace, part of the Italian house’s coming Polychroma High Jewellery collection.

The actress paired her polka dot gown by Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing with the striking piece, as well as an emerald and diamond ring and diamond and platinum earrings from Bvlgari High Jewellery.

But jewellery was not only limited to the ladies.

Both Diab and Kaepernick wore pieces from French fashion brand Moncler’s collaboration with stylist and former British Vogue editor Edward Enninful, with Diab finishing her look with a Moisaique Delilah necklace by Boucheron.

One of the evening’s co-chairmen, rapper A$ap Rocky, also wore a necklace from Bvlgari’s yet-to-be-unveiled Polychroma High Jewellery collection.

Swipe to see other celebrities who paired their dandy-inspired looks with sparkling statement pieces.
