🖤 The Call - Ps Bande Kentane

Psalm 23
“The Lord is my Shepherd.”
Before He is your Provider, Protector, or Guide, He must first be your King.

When the Lord is your Shepherd:
• You have no lack in direction, provision, or protection.
• He leads you into places of true rest, where your soul is restored.
• He renews your thinking, heals your emotions, and aligns your will with His.
• Even when you walk through the valley, you don’t live there. You’re just passing through because you’re following the Shepherd.

The valley isn’t proof that God has left you. Sometimes it’s evidence that you’re answering His call. If He has led you there, He will also lead you through.

His rod brings protection. His staff brings correction. His presence brings courage.

God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound, disciplined mind (2 Timothy 1:7). So don’t keep looking at the valley, keep your eyes on the Shepherd.

He prepares a table before you in the presence of your enemies. His covenant still stands. His protection still works. His peace is still available.

The question isn’t, “Where am I walking?” It’s, “Who am I walking with?”

Don’t treat God like a slot machine for desperate moments. Build intimacy with Him daily. Follow Him when life is good and when life is hard.

The call is simple:
Make Jesus your Shepherd and King.
Cultivate intimacy with Him.
Keep following Him through every season.

“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” — Psalm 23:6

May the Lord remind you today that YOUR ASSIGNMENT IS STILL ALIVE.
As long as there is breath in your lungs, there is purpose in your life and strength to finish what God has called you to do!

🤍 The little moments remind you it’s worth it.

Today, out of nowhere, Samuel said:
“Thank you for all you have done for my life, Mommy. You have influenced me. You have poured so much into my life. Thank you for correcting me with my school.”

I looked at him and said, “Wow Samuel, those are big words! I love you, champ. You’re my favourite little boy.”

Without missing a beat he replied, “Thanks, babyshoes!” 😂😂 Then he burst into laughter. “Mommy, I’m getting the joy of the Lord!”

Parenting is funny like that.
Some days you’re correcting the same attitude, repeating the same instructions, reminding them to obey, teaching them and showing them how to talk to God and spiritual disciplines, wondering if they’re listening at all. Then, on other days, God gives you a glimpse of the seeds taking root.

I’ve learned that as parents, our greatest calling isn’t simply to correct or manage our children’s behavior, it’s to steward their hearts. Behavior may change for a moment, but when the heart is transformed, lasting fruit follows.

Proverbs 4:23 (NLT)
“Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.”

As parents, we’re helping our children learn to guard their hearts, love what is right, receive correction and follow Jesus wholeheartedly.

Galatians 6:9 (NLT)
“So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”

To every parent who feels weary: keep praying, keep loving, keep stewarding, keep correcting with grace and keep sowing God’s Word into your children’s hearts. Every conversation, every hug, every correction, every prayer and every act of faithfulness is planting seeds.

One day you’ll hear your child say something, respond in a certain way, or make a Godly decision and you’ll realise that while you couldn’t always see it, God was growing something beautiful beneath the surface.

Don’t lose heart. Keep stewarding their hearts, not just their behavior. The harvest is coming!
