✨ Moments that Stay with Me ✨
Working part-time as an esthetician, I often meet beautiful souls who trust me with their faces and, in many ways, their stories. Recently, two clients reminded me how kindness can show up even in small, fleeting moments.
The first was a little girl, not more than seven, who came in to get her ears pierced. She was understandably nervous and shed a few tears, but after giving her and her mom a moment to settle, she came back to me, calm, brave, and smiling. She handed me a tiny fish tail charm, something special to her, as a thank-you. That simple act taught me something profound: it’s okay to feel pain and still choose to be kind.
The second moment came from a fellow student from Northern Ontario. She was wearing a pair of beautiful beaded earrings the perfect icebreaker. When I admired them and mentioned I was looking for something similar for an upcoming Navratri function, she opened her jewelry box and simply handed me the earrings, saying, “It’s a gift.”
What moved me most was that she had just shared how she’s trying to make ends meet and find her footing away from home something I deeply relate to. Yet, her first instinct was generosity.
Now, every time I see those little trinkets the fish tail and the beaded earrings they remind me that kindness doesn’t depend on what we have, but on who we choose to be. These small gestures fill my heart with warmth and remind me why I love what I do. 💛
