Christmas is a reminder that God didn’t choose to love us from a distance. He came near. He stepped into our world, our mess, our fears, our everyday life. This season, may we remember that “Immanuel” isn’t just a Christmas word—He’s a daily reality.

When we first come to Christ, we receive His full approval — not because of our performance, but because of Jesus’ finished work. This acceptance is the firm foundation for our identity.

But God’s “yes” at the start isn’t a call to spiritual autopilot. Grace is an invitation to transformation.

Live from God’s approval, not for it.

Zacchaeus was a wealthy tax collector—successful by the world’s standards, but deeply rejected by society. But Jesus saw more. He didn’t ignore Zacchaeus. He stopped, looked up, and called him by name.

Sometimes, we carry guilt over past decisions, or feel we’ve drifted too far to come back to God. But the story of Zacchaeus reminds us: Jesus comes for the outcasts, the failures, the ones others give up on—and the ones who may have given up on themselves.

There are moments when I just want to retreat into my default—quiet, guarded, unreadable. Not because I don’t feel deeply, but because every time I try to let someone in, I’m met with distance, disappointment, or silence. It teaches you that maybe keeping it all in is safer… that maybe vulnerability is a language too heavy for some people.

But even in my silence, God hears. And though it’s hard to open up, I’m learning that healing doesn’t always come from people—it starts in the presence of the One who never leaves.
