For those who don’t know, gestalt language processing means kids learn language in chunks or scripts — often from shows, songs, or movies — and use pieces of those familiar phrases to communicate. They don’t start with single words and build up; they start with full “scripts” and later learn to break them down into smaller parts.
Dylan taught himself the alphabet by 10 months old, and before he could really communicate, he was already fascinated by letters and phonics. Instead of forcing typical language milestones, we followed his lead — nourishing his love for letters, sounds, and patterns.
Now, that same curiosity has evolved into him recognizing words and figuring out how to spell them out loud. Every child’s path looks different — this is just how Dylan’s brain lights up when he learns 💡
If your child is delayed or gestalt, don’t lose hope. Meet them where their interests are — it might just be the key that unlocks everything.
