This was one of the first highly questionable elections decided by mail-in and provisional ballots introduced and counted after election night. I remember this night very well, going to bed happy that Steve Cooley had won. It took weeks to count the outstanding ballots, and big surprise, the democrat ends up with the win. All polling before the election had Cooley way out in front, but Harris had Obama's endorsement and a bunch of poll workers who wanted her to win.

The other time this happened was during Al Franken's Senate race in 2008. In that episode, Franken lost on election night, but poll workers kept finding uncounted boxes of ballots, all for Franken, for days after the election. Again, big surprise, Franken pulled it out against the Republican, Norm Coleman.

Those two were the test runs, and the 2020 presidential race was the championship game.
